Letter to Parents With Update Regarding YONDR Pouch Program - September 18, 2023

September 18, 2023

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are extremely happy to report the successful implementation of the YONDR pouch program during the initial weeks of this school year. We would like to extend a very sincere thank you for all of your efforts and support from home.  The results have been significant already, with a noticeable increase in classroom focus and reduced distractions. Thank you so much for your support in making this initiative a success, and we look forward to the continued benefits it brings to our students' education.

There have recently been questions around if each student needs his/her pouch at all times.  This has most frequently been asked as parents and guardians have explained that their child does not have a phone.  It is a logical and valid question.  The answer is that each student does need his/her individual pouch.  They will need them as they enter the building daily.  The biggest reason is that it is logistically impossible to track who does and does not have a phone. This blanket policy is important so everyone is in the same position and has no reason for a phone being outside the YONDR pouch. Our recommendation is for students to carry their pouches in their backpacks.  If there are pouch check days as they enter the building, the student will show their pouch there and then move into the building.  The pouch does not need to be in their possession at all times, but they should have it on them as they enter and exit the building.

Again, the positive effects of this implementation have been significant, and we are truly grateful for your support.  Our only goal is to provide a learning environment that supports the growth and development of all our students.

Sincerely,

Molly Corrado
