Bristol is a kind friend who always makes good choices. She shows respect for others and responsibility in the classroom. She is a hard worker and always has a positive attitude. She enjoys school and learning new things!

Arrowood Elementary: Lydia Hoiles
Arrowood Elementary is proud to announce Lydia Hoiles as our December Kid of Character. During the month of November, Arrowood recognized students who show gratitude. Lydia Hoiles is a 2nd grader in Mr. Toscani's class. He writes of Lydia, " I can't think of a more deserving person to be recognized for showing and embracing gratitude than Lydia. She expresses gratitude through her daily interactions with other students and staff. She is always one of the first to say thank you, no matter what it is. Her gratitude radiates through her kindness." In addition, Lydia is a good friend and excellent student. Arrowood is so "grateful" to have Lydia as one of our students!

Cox Elementary: Madalyn Gwin
Madalyn is a true shining star at Cox. She is a role model to all. She is PAX leader who leads by example. Her hard work and dedication to her school work and behavior make others follow her shining star behavior. Madlyn exemplifies how all students should carry themselves in Xenia. She is a true kid of character.

McKinley Elementary: Jorian Williams
McKinley's 2nd Grade would like to nominate Jorian Williams as our "Kid of Character." Jorian is such a sweet boy with a big heart for others. He is a hard worker in class and always shows respect. Jorian is making so much progress already this year, and he is amazing at math! Outside of school, Jorian plays football, basketball, and baseball. He's a great teammate and gives 100% on and off the field. Jorian is always polite and is willing to help the class in any way he can. I am so proud of Jorian Williams and the way he represents Xenia Community Schools!

Shawnee Elementary: Avilynn Horsley
Avilynn is Shawnee's Student of Character for responsibility. She consistently exhibits responsibility in her daily school routine by completing tasks without reminders. She diligently completes her assignments and engages and actively participates in classroom discussions. She serves as an exemplary model of responsibility for her classmates and contributes to a positive classroom environment. Way to go Avilynn!

Tecumseh Elementary: Braxton Roberts
Braxton is our class’ kid of character for gratitude. Braxton is a shining star in our classroom. He is thankful and appreciative of coming to school and learning every day. This is evident by his giant smile as he enters the building, greeting staff and students. Braxton is thankful for inclusion and enjoys all activities with his fifth-grade friends. Braxton is very thankful for having an AAC device (his talker), to help communicate his wants and needs. He has made tremendous growth in his time at Tecumseh and we are going to miss him so much next year. Thank you for being YOU, Braxton Roberts!

Warner Middle School: Taetym Metcalf

Taetym exemplifies qualities of kindness and consideration towards others. In addition, he possesses a great sense of humor and remains steadfastly loyal to his friends. Taetym is highly motivated to complete any task he undertakes. Furthermore, he holds his role as a big brother and a son in high regard, valuing the importance of family. Demonstrating his athletic prowess, Taetym recently secured a spot on the Warner 7th grade basketball team! He plays the clarinet and is a valued member of the Warner band. Notably, he exhibits resilience in the face of adversity, maintaining a positive outlook to overcome any challenges that come his way.

Taetym, congratulations! We applaud you and are very proud to recognize you as Warner Middle School’s Kid of Character for the month of December.

Xenia High School: Richa Ferguson
Richa, a member of the Class of 2027, is Xenia High School's Kid of Character for December 2023.  Richa was nominated by two staff members, who cited her as an outstanding student, a caring and supportive classmate, and a positive influence on everyone with whom she works.  Richa is involved with the Writing Club, and with the Theater program.  After high school, Richa wants to be a filmmaker, working in the medium of two-dimensional graphics.  Richa is a delightful person, and we are thrilled to have her as our December Kid of Character.
