Constitution Day 2025
From art and writing projects to music and grammar lessons, our students learned all about our constitution in age-appropriate ways! This annual day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.
A sampling of activities and learning that took place at Xenia Schools:
In Mrs. Rubio's class, we read about the founding fathers of our Constitution! We watched a short video to hear the information and check for understanding, then we wrapped up our learning with red, white and blue art while listening to patriotic music!
Mr. Wassom’s 7th grade English students recognized Constitution Day by combining English Language Arts with Civics. Students practiced the use of the semicolon — a punctuation mark that separates items in a complex list — by writing out the First Amendment to learn two important lessons at the same time.
In Mrs. Sparks 6th grade Social Studies class students explored the Constitution through a choice board. Students picked an activity of their choice to learn more about our U.S. Constitution and the process our Founding Fathers took in creating it.
