Unlocking Potential through Beatboxing and Self-Reflection

Warner Middle School 7th and 8th graders recently experienced an unforgettable presentation powered by Muse Machine, featuring master human beatboxer, songwriter, and speaker TERRELL X.
With 30 years of global performance experience, TERRELL X brought high energy and inspiration to the gym at Warner. Using just a microphone, a pedalboard, and his own body as an instrument, he constructed a full-band hip-hop experience right before the students’ eyes, demonstrating how vocal percussion, looping, and storytelling can transform pure breath into powerful art.
Beyond the incredible rhythms, TERRELL X shared a deeply moving personal story. A former social worker and foster care survivor, his journey embodies conscious, healthy evolution — including losing over 150 pounds after adopting a plant-based, vegan lifestyle.
He encouraged our middle school students to practice deep self-reflection, embrace positive choices, and unlock their limitless potential. By showing students that their bodies and minds are the ultimate creative tools, TERRELL X left students inspired to find and project their own unique voices.
We are very thankful to the Xenia Foundation for their generous grant that made it possible for Warner Middle School to partner with Muse Machine. Their support provides our students with opportunities to experience the arts in ways that are fun, meaningful, and different from their everyday classroom experiences.
We are excited to continue this partnership in December, when our 6th grade students will have the opportunity to enjoy their own Muse Machine performance.
