A Rainbow of Smiles: 4th Annual Adapted PE Color Run

Under bright blue skies on Monday, May 4, the Adapted Physical Education (APE) students from across the district gathered together on the track at Xenia High School for the 4th Annual Color Run!
Students, teachers, assistants, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, central office staff, family members, NHS volunteers, and a couple of friendly pooches also joined the festivities. The group enjoyed laps around the track, getting their t-shirts sprayed with all the colors of the rainbow, time to play on the grass, bubbles, balls, endless games of tag and chase with SRO Margioras providing the music.
After lunch in the gym, the annual Tug of War tournament began with Ms. DeMartino, Ms. Penn, and Ms. Payton’s classes winning.
Bowling, putt putt, basketball, a cakewalk, and parachute stations were crowd pleasers in the afternoon. The day ended with an energetic dance party hosted by our very own DJ Mr. Joe!
A special THANK YOU to Joe Price for planning and coordinating this annual event.
