Science Fair Success at XHS

On Friday, February 27, 13 talented students from Ms. Amole’s Honors Spectra Class stepped up to the plate at the 2026 XHS Science Fair. Students presented their individual projects to a panel of volunteer judges from across the community — and the results were nothing short of impressive! Five students earned an “Excellent” rating, and seven achieved the highest honor of “Superior.”
For their projects, each of our students explored a fascinating range of topics, from the practical to the creative. Many students evaluated commercial products, testing the limits of everything from color-stay shampoos to diaper absorbency. Subjects ranged from analyzing the elasticity of crochet yarn and drumstick durability to the effectiveness of insulated water bottles and suture thread strength.
We are proud to announce that three students have committed to representing XHS at the Regional level later this spring! Please join us in congratulating these young scientists: Albert Adams, Lily Naylor, and Harley Neal.
In addition, we would like to thank the volunteers who dedicated their time, energy, and talents to serve as judges.
