XHS Baskets For Battle 2023

Baskets for Battle Delivers Cheer for Local Cancer Patients
Posted on 12/13/2023
On Friday, December 8, the Xenia High School Student Council wrapped up the annual Baskets for Battle project when they hand-delivered 200 baskets to four hospitals across the region.

Baskets for Battle is an annual service project that is dedicated to providing support and comfort to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Each year, students collect donations of items and solicit donations that allow them to assemble and deliver thoughtfully curated baskets filled with helpful items tailored to ease patients during treatment.

Why Baskets for Battle?
The goal of the project is to lift the spirits or patients during the holiday season and offer a gesture of support during their challenging journey. Baskets for Battle was established ten years ago by a dedicated Student Council member during her personal battle with cancer, and students today continue to honor her legacy by continuing this meaningful project annually. Our XHS Student Council is passionate about this cause, and will be reaching out to explore potential partnerships and support from businesses that share our commitment to community welfare to keep this project going for many years to come.
