Flat Stanley's Adventures
Students in Mrs. Tammy Busch's second grade class at Tecumseh Elementary sent their Flat Stanley's out and have been eagerly awaiting updates on his travels, so see what he has been up to and where he has been! They uploaded a map of the United States to pinpoint where their Flat Stanley has visited. Flat Stanley is a character is Jeff Brown's book: the story tells of Stanley's adventures after surviving being squished flat while sleeping by a falling bulletin board. Flat Stanley visits his friends across the US by being mailed in an envelope. Schools all across America now use Flat Stanley and his adventures as a project designed to improve student's reading and writing skills while also promoting an interest in learning about different people and places.

Girls on the Run
All 21 girls on Arrowood's GOTR (Girls on the Run) team completed their practice 5K last week! Many teammates even ran extra laps after they had finished to encourage and support the girls who were still running their laps. The girls were given certificates and medals after the last girl crossed the finish line. The team is looking forward to the Celebratory 5K on Saturday, May 11 at the Dayton Dragons Stadium. Great job girls!

McKinley's First Graders' Trip Around Xenia
McKinley Elementary first graders took a trip around town! They hopped on the "Magic School Bus" and traveled all around Xenia. They made several stops around Xenia learning all about the community in which they live. They stopped at Xenia Station, the City Building, ate lunch at Shawnee Park, visited the Greene County Historical Society log cabin, and the Xenia Police station.
