ABOUT US

Xenia Community Schools is rich with high quality educational programs, excellent teaching staff, rigorous core curriculum, and more than 4,000 motivated and capable students who fill our halls each and every day! Over the past several years, every K-5 core subject area has been updated with new curriculum and resources, and the current 6-12 core curriculum will continue to be evaluated during the 2022-2023 school year. In addition, every student has access to technology and is issued a Chromebook to access learning resources throughout the school day, and 6-12 students keep their devices to complete work at home.

The school district consists of eight schools: Xenia High School, Warner Middle School, Arrowood Elementary, Cox Elementary, McKinley Elementary, Shawnee Elementary, Tecumseh Elementary, and Xenia Preschool.

The Online Edge program, which provides an alternative learning option for secondary students, is a great option for independent students who thrive when working at home at their own pace. Available by application only to current XCS students in grades 6-12, this program mixes the best of online learning with regular face-to-face support from a Xenia teacher, plus the benefits of regular interactions with classmates throughout the year at seminars and other in-person events.

Xenia offers many extra and co-curricular opportunities for students. The district promotes and supports high achievement with technology courses, gifted programming, advanced placement and dual enrollment courses, and many elective course offerings that allow students to explore their academic interests. Students K-12 are learning and experiencing cutting edge technology through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs. At the high school, students can select from over 150 course options that include taking enrichment, advanced placement, and credit bearing courses.

Early learning is also a priority! Enrollment is growing at our Five Star Step Up to Quality Xenia Preschool, where we offer a stimulating environment for our youngest learners. In this space, 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds learn and grow together as they prepare to start Kindergarten in one of our five elementary neighborhood schools.

Students represent the whole community including Xenia, Wilberforce, Spring Valley, Caesarcreek Township, New Jasper Township, and Xenia Township. Diversity is the power of our district. We push for equality and equal treatment of all students. The inseparable bond of school and community is evidenced by the abundant partnerships with parents, grandparents, volunteers, the Mayor and the Xenia City Council, the Xenia Police Department, the Greene County Historical Society, the Ministerial Alliance, the Xenia Education Association, the Xenia Education Support Professionals, the Xenia Area Chamber’s Partners in Education, the Xenia Community Schools Foundation, and numerous other civic organizations.

Xenia Community Schools is committed to meeting the needs of all students at every age level!  We take pride in offering competitive, dynamic learning environments that meet the needs of all students, because every student deserves a positive experience every day while learning, growing, and preparing for the future.
