Model UN Preps for Harvard Trip

Model UN Delegates Prepare for Trip to Boston
Posted on 11/08/2023
The Xenia High School Model U.N. team has been selected to attend the prestigious Harvard Model United Nations conference to be held in Boston, Massachusetts from January 26-29, 2024.

The trip was approved by the Board of Education on Monday, November 6, which means that four students will have the chance to attend and will be actively fundraising in the coming weeks to make the trip possible!

The conference, staffed entirely by Harvard University students, is an opportunity for the students to experience firsthand the challenges of international negotiation and diplomacy and to share their experiences and opinions with students from around the world.

The trip is estimated to cost around $2,500 per student, a figure which the team hopes to reduce significantly through a variety of fundraising efforts, including a Skyline fundraiser (Wednesday, November 8 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.), double good fundraiser, and more.

The delegation will also benefit from the generous sponsorship of local businesses. Yet, even with this help, the cost of attending may still be prohibitive for some students and the team is actively seeking other forms of sponsorship and support from the community.
