XHS Government Students Head to State House

Just prior to Spring Break, our XHS government classes took a field trip to Ohio's Statehouse to get a closer look at our legislative system.
During the trip, more than 100 XHS students were able to take a guided tour of our beautiful State House, where they could see Ohio's legislative branch at work. The highlight of the day was visiting the floor of the House of Representatives, where the public is allowed only by invitation from a representative. We were so fortunate that Representative Bill Dean invited us onto the House floor, where students were able to sit in the seats of Ohio's 99 representatives, and gain a better understanding of how the state legislature operates.
This experience does not happen often, and we are thankful to Rep. Dean for his time and the wonderful opportunity! Students wrapped up their day with lunch at the North Market in downtown Columbus.
