Groundbreaking for Warner Middle School
Update: 9/14/22

On Thursday, September 8 at 12:00 p.m., Xenia Community Schools kicked off the construction project to build a new Warner Middle School with an official groundbreaking ceremony.

The event featured current and future middle school students, as well as speakers from the district and a member of the construction project team from SHP, the project architectural firm. The program for the day also included both current leadership students from Warner Middle School, and a few members of the Classes of 2030 and 2031. These young students will be among the first classes to attend the new facility as 6th and 7th grade students when it is anticipated to open.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place directly adjacent to Warner Middle School, where the new building will be located.

Initial Interior Renderings Available
Update: 8/11/22

Over the past year, our planning and design groups took all of the feedback from parents, students, teachers, and the community to create a 21st century learning space for Xenia students.

The new WMS will integrate hands-on STEM learning, creative art and music spaces, career readiness programming, and more into the design — so be sure to check out this first look at the plans in the photo gallery!

The building will include:

  1. A large multi-purpose Student Commons area that is the heart of the building with its feature "learning stairs" and lots of natural light,
  2. An electives wing,
  3. Outdoor learning and gathering spaces in the courtyard,
  4. A complete academic wing with one floor for each grade that is packed with learning labs, classrooms with flexible seating and work space, small group study areas, and even their own distributed media centers.
