Xenia Preschool: Landon Test
Landon is a positive role model at Xenia Preschool. Landon displays leadership, creativity, honesty, and courage. He is a great leader by being a friend to everyone and is always inclusive. When things get tough, Landon shows grit and determination. He always puts forth his best effort.  Way to go, Landon!

Arrowood Elementary: Lydia Hoiles
Arrowood is proud to recognize Lydia Hoiles as our March Kid of Character. Lydia is a 1st-grade student in Mrs. Lindsay's class.  Mrs. Lindsay writes, "Lydia is an amazing kiddo! She is thoughtful, caring, and helpful. Lydia is honest to her core. She knows what is right, and does what is right — even when no one is looking." We are so thankful to have Lydia at Arrowood!

Cox Elementary: Harper Saunders
Cox Shining Star student of character is Harper Saunders. Harper was nominated by her first-grade teacher Mrs. Vogelsong. She writes, "Harper is a sweet, kind child.  She is always on task and paying attention. Harper has worked really hard on her reading skills so far this year and has advanced 2 levels since the beginning of the school year! She shows responsibility daily by coming to school ready to work. Congratulations, Harper!"

McKinley Elementary: Miriam Gehrich
We are proud to honor Miriam Gehrich as McKinley's Kid of Character for March. Miriam exemplifies all aspects of our Character Strong program. She demonstrates leadership in the classroom and school building by speaking thoughtfully and respectfully, treating people with kindness, and displaying PAX behaviors. Miriam works diligently in all subjects and is quick to offer a helping hand when needed to classmates and teachers. She challenges herself often, encourages others, and goes above expectations with a positive attitude.

Shawnee Elementary: Gemma Wintersteller
Gemma was selected as the student of character. She is being recognized for the character trait “Perseverance.” In first grade, there are many challenges students have to work through. Gemma handles those challenges with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She is a joy to have in the classroom. One specific challenge Gemma is doing fantastic with is our 1st grade Reading Challenge. She currently has read over 30 books on her way to 50. She is more than halfway there. Gemma is doing an excellent job! Gemma is a great example to his peers, and she works well with others. I am so proud of Gemma. We are lucky to have her at Shawnee. Keep doing your best, Gemma, no matter how difficult a challenge may be.

Tecumseh Elementary: Devyn Johnson
Devyn continuously shows honesty in and outside of the classroom. When asked, she always responds truthfully, no matter the situation. Devyn is a great example of always being honest.

Warner Middle School: Mason See
Teachers have had the pleasure of teaching Mason See this year in 6th grade. From the start, Mason has impressed them with his eagerness to learn, his passion for his studies, and his ability to be articulate when talking about difficult concepts.

Mason always shows the greatest deal of respect to the classroom and guest teachers, setting the example for others. He exhibits responsibility by always completing his work, is always an active participant in class discussions, and has always been supportive of his peers.  Mrs. Pogue, his language arts teacher, says, “I can also always depend on Mason to be actively engaged and be part of the class discussion, even when others aren’t eager to participate.”  His caring nature, patience, and personality allow him to work well with anyone in the classroom, as he always respects the opinions and abilities of others. Mason’s commitment is further exemplified through his initiative to regularly assist teachers and other students.

We are certain that Mason is destined to do great things. His tireless work ethic, passion for learning, sense of responsibility, and his dependability will certainly make him successful in life. We are all very proud of you and want to congratulate you on being selected as Warner Middle School’s Kid of Character for the month of March.

Xenia High School: Klohi Navarro-Aguilar
Our March Student of Character is Klohi Navarro-Aguilar, Class of '26. Klohi is described by her teachers as a phenomenal student, an extraordinarily positive influence in her classes, and a quiet leader. Klohi is a member of the JROTC program, the Academic Team, and the Model UN club.  Her favorite classes this year are Theater and Algebra I, and she enjoys BUXTV and pep assemblies. After graduation, Klohi would like to serve in the military, then pursue a degree in education and become a math teacher.
