Triple P Parenting Sessions

Triple P Parenting Sessions Set for Spring 2023
Posted on 02/16/2023
This spring, Xenia Community Schools will be hosting a series of optional parent learning sessions using the Triple P: Positive Parenting Program.

Designed for parents of elementary students, these sessions will be available in a mix of virtual and in-person options from March through April. Planned session topics range from positive parenting to a session that will give parents tools to help their child with issues such as fighting and aggression.

Parents will receive a $10 gift card (one per family) for attending each session, and everyone who signs up and attends will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win $50! Those who sign up and attend virtual events can pick up their $10 gift card at their child's school after the session has been completed.

WHAT IS TRIPLE P?
The Triple P program is a parenting and family support system designed to prevent, as well as treat, behavioral and emotional problems in children and teenagers. The goal of the program is to help prevent problems in the family, school and community before they arise and to help create family environments that encourage children to realize their potential. Families can learn more about the Triple P program online.

ABOUT THESE PARENT SESSIONS
The program is being presented by XCS Social Worker Sarah Gilreath, a licensed social worker who is fully certified to deliver the Triple P Parenting Program.

XCS parents are asked to sign up for the session(s) they would like to attend in advance so that enough materials can be prepared. The form, which includes planned sessions with dates and times, is now available.

For in-person events, families will receive their materials at the session. In-person sessions will also include light bites and free child care that will allow parents to focus on the information being presented. Both in-person sessions will take place at Benner Field House, located at 316 Edison Blvd. next to Xenia Preschool.

For virtual events, parents should pick up your materials for online sessions at the elementary school your child attends prior to the event. Materials will be available four (4) school days before each session.

Funding for these sessions is provided in part by a grant from Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
