XCS Board Approves Treasurer Services Contract

SRC to Provide Treasurer Services

After Treasurer/CFO Carolyn Huber, who has been with the district since 2017, announced that she will be leaving the district this spring, the XCS Board of Education approved an agreement with the Shared Resource Center (SRC) to provide interim Treasurer services at a special meeting on January 25.

For the duration of the contract with the SRC, Sam Braun will provide Treasurer services for the district. He officially starts on March 20, but will work closely with Mrs. Huber in the interim to prepare for his time at the district.

Sam Braun is a financial professional with over 15 years of experience helping local governments plan for and achieve their financial goals. Mr. Braun is currently part of the Shared Resource Center’s team. The Shared Resource Center provides financial services including leadership, treasurer services, accounting and payroll, to local governments in Ohio.

Mr. Braun has served as Treasurer for the Huber Heights and Brookville School Districts. He is also the Finance Director for Washington Township (Montgomery County). He has worked in some capacity with over a half dozen school districts in the region. Before joining the Shared Resource Center, Mr. Braun spent 14 years in the Montgomery County Auditor’s Office. There he served as Finance Manager and Director of Community Services.

A licensed School Treasurer and Certified Public Investment Manager, Mr. Braun graduated from Kalamazoo College. He earned his Masters in Business Administration with a Finance concentration at Wright State University. Mr. Braun is proud to be a product of the Xenia school system. He graduated from Xenia High School in 1999 after having attended Central Junior High and Tecumseh Elementary. He resides in Dayton with his wife, dog, and cat.
