HOSA January Blood Drive

HOSA Students Collect 39 Pints for Winter Drive
Posted on 01/26/2023
On Tuesday, January 24, students in HOSA, the future health professionals group at Xenia High School, hosted their second blood drive of the year, where they helped collect 39 pints of blood for the Community Blood Center (CBC).

These students are currently completing their Biomedical Science Pathway at XHS, and are exploring medical careers that range from nursing to plans to become a surgeon! To plan for the drive, students who had just learned about phlebotomy encouraged staff and eligible students to participate, and worked with teachers and the CBC to coordinate all aspects of the day.

A committee of HOSA students staffed check-in tables, cooked pancakes, and supported all of the donors throughout the process. They then ensured that each and every donor was feeling fine as they fueled up and headed back to class after donating.

HOSA’s final blood drive for the school year has been set for April 6, 2023.
