Fall Food Drives 2021

Fall Food Drives Wrap Up in Time for Thanksgiving
Posted on 11/19/2021
Several fall service projects in our buildings revolved around making sure that local families aren't going hungry — and wrapped up this week just in time for Thanksgiving!

XENIA PRESCHOOL FOOD DRIVE
This year, our littlest learners at the Xenia Preschool once again held a food collection drive. Preschool students donated a total of 941.1 lbs. of food — the equivalent weight of an adult polar bear! — to the Xenia FISH food pantry as they wrapped up their project this week.

Preschool students collected more than 900 pounds of food to donate.

WARNER MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOD DRIVE
At Warner Middle School, the annual leadership food drive service project finished on November 18. Donations will go to the Xenia Area FISH Food Pantry in time for the December holidays.

In addition, 27 Warner families who needed a hand received Thanksgiving meals from the school counseling department this week, too! The baskets included all of the fixings for a tasty Thanksgiving meal, including a turkey, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, rice, dressing, jiffy cornbread mix, carrots, green beans, corn, cream of chicken, gravy, cranberry sauce, whipped cream, and a pumpkin pie.

This project was completed thanks to generous donations from Jones-Napper Ministries, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and donations from the students and staff of Warner Middle School's annual can food drive.
