2021 WMS Food Drive Kicks Off

2021 WMS Food Drive Kicks Off Friday, October 29
Posted on 10/27/2021
Our WMS leadership students are kicking off the annual Warner Middle School Canned Food Drive this Friday! Students will be collecting non-perishable items to donate to Xenia Area Fish Food Pantry, and donations may be brought in from October 29 – November 18.

Donations may be sent to school with any WMS student. For local families without middle school students who want to support the drive, donations may be delivered to Warner between 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

At the end of the project, all donations will be delivered by leadership students after the Thanksgiving holiday. The Food Pantry has requested that we help replenish their supplies at that time in order to help prepare for the upcoming Christmas season. We just ask that everyone be sure to check expiration dates before sending items in!

For the kickoff on Friday, October 29, students can participate in a Halloween dress-up day by donating $1 -OR- bringing in two (2) canned goods or boxed food items. Families should note that there are restrictions on costumes, so be sure to follow the rules, please!

Note that there is also a Halloween-themed dance that afternoon that is a separate event — although the same costume rules apply! Capacity for the dance is limited to 300, and students must purchase a $3 dance ticket at lunch (available 10/26-10/28). Be sure to ask if you have questions, and review the costume guidelines below.

Costume Rules for 10/29:
1) No fake blood
2) No pretend weapons
3) No alcohol or drug references
4) No provocative/risqué outfits
5) No full face masks (eye masks okay)
