2025 Career Expo

Posted on 02/24/2025

On Friday, March 7, Xenia Community Schools will host a Career Expo for high school students to explore careers by meeting representatives from different industries.

For the event, nearly 40 partners will be set up at tables in the XHS gymnasium, ready to talk to students, share information about their industry, and answer questions about potential careers. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn about careers, and discover just what it might take to get where they want to go!

While the event is open to all Xenia High School students, the focus is on providing support to Juniors and graduating Seniors. Students will have the chance to learn more about local career options, meet with professionals from the greater Dayton area, and practice networking skills learned in the classroom.

This is the first time the College and Career Expo has been separated into two events: a College Expo in the fall and a Career Expo in the spring. This change allows for students to explore different potential paths after high school in a timelier fashion, taking into account the lengthier timeline for college applications. The spring career-focused event allows students who are not considering a higher degree to explore options such as apprenticeships or technical training.

What are Career Clusters?
Career clusters are simply groups of jobs that are similar in terms of their features, knowledge, and skill-set! This includes areas such as Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, Education, Finance, Health Sciences, and more.

About the Expo
The Expo was planned by the district’s Curriculum & Instruction Department, and is part of the district's college and career readiness initiatives.
