XHS PARKING PERMIT REGISTRATION PROCEDURES,
STUDENT DRIVING RULES & REGULATIONS
All XHS Students must register their vehicle if they wish to drive it to school.
- EACH vehicle that you will be driving to Xenia High School MUST BE REGISTERED.
- You may apply for a parking permit by filling out the Electronic Application Form.
- You must display your placard for ANY and ALL vehicles you drive to school.
- Placards are transferable from one registered vehicle to another within your family’s vehicles ONLY.
- By acknowledging the Electronic Application Form, you acknowledge that you have the permission of the vehicle's owner and your parent/guardian to drive the registered vehicle(s) to school.
- ONE placard per student will be issued at NO COST. Placards are expected to be returned at the end of the school year. There will be a $5.00 charge for placards that are lost, damaged or need replaced.
Driving Rules and Regulations
Driving to school is a privilege. Driving privileges will be denied to students observed in violation of Ohio driving laws and Xenia High School regulations.
Parking: Parking is provided as a convenience and privilege to Xenia High School students. School officials retain the right to examine the contents and/or search a vehicle parked on school premises when they have a reasonable belief that items contained in the vehicle may interfere with the safe or effective operation of the vehicle or operations of the school.
- All off-campus parking is prohibited. If you drive to school, you are to park in the students’ parking lot ONLY.
- Park between the lines marked for parking. DO NOT occupy more than one space. DO NOT park in the spaces adjacent to the sidewalk.
- Students have five minutes to park the car and report directly to the building. Students are not to loiter in their cars once they are parked on school property.
- Students who have Friday Detention or after school activities MUST park North of the tree planters.
Driving:
- Students are to show good judgment when entering or leaving the parking lot. No speeding or reckless driving will be tolerated. Fifteen (15) miles per hour is the speed limit in the school parking lot. Violators of the above regulations may forfeit their parking permit and are subject to disciplinary action.
- Students are to abide by all Ohio Driving Laws.
- Loud music, excessive horn blowing, cutting in line, and racing of engines will not be tolerated.
- Right turns out of the student parking lot are prohibited between 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm on school days.
- ALL car traffic in the student lot will come to a full STOP when departing buses begin to move. School buses ALWAYS have the right away.
- DRIVERS & PASSENGERS MUST WEAR THEIR SAFETY BELTS.
Procedural Overview:
- All/New student drivers must register immediately.
- Complete and submit the Electronic Application Form to begin the registration process.
- Listen for an announcement/email informing you of pickup location and times when they are ready.
- Violations of these procedures in conjunction with Board Policy will result in disciplinary action and/or loss of parking privileges.
- Parking off site could result in your vehicle being towed.
