XCS Board Member Resigns

Dr. Pam Callahan Resigns from Board of Education
Posted on 02/21/2023
At a special meeting of the Board of Education on Monday, February 20, Dr. Pamela Callahan announced her resignation, effective March 1, 2023, and the Board established criteria and a timeline to appoint her replacement.

Because the vacancy must be filled within 30 days, the remaining board members issued notice of the resignation, along with complete guidelines for applicants to submit their brief letter of interest, the following day.

As part of these guidelines, any qualified and interested citizen may submit their letter of interest by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023. The letter of interest should not be longer than two pages, and should include a resume. Complete details and directions are available below:

Applicants will be reviewed at a special meeting on March 17, and interviews will be scheduled for Saturday, March 25 and Monday, March 27. Each of these special meetings will take place primarily in executive session.

An additional special meeting will be scheduled the week of March 27 during which a vote will be taken to appoint Dr. Callahan’s replacement and the new board member will be appointed. The date and time for this meeting will be announced once plans have been finalized, but will take place within the required timeline.

The newly appointed member will be sworn in at the regular meeting on April 10, 2023. They will serve the remainder of Dr. Callahan’s unexpired term, which ends on December 31, 2023.
