Our middle school choir and band programs are making the most of May! The fun — and hits! — kicked off last week with the WMS Band and Choir spring concerts in the Bob Hope Auditorium at Xenia High School.
Then on Friday, May 2, Warner's 7th Grade Band had an amazing performance at Wright State University. They performed two songs, Brace for Impact and In Darkest Night, and then experienced a clinic with college professors where they received live feedback for their performance. In addition to positive feedback from those experts, the students enjoyed a meal at Marion’s Piazza to celebrate their hard work this year.
Not to be outdone, the next day, 8th grade Choir and Band each took home Second Place in their category at the Music in the Parks Festival at Kings Island. At this annual student-favorite event, both groups performed for the judges and then enjoyed some time riding coasters until the awards ceremony, where they each brought home shining silver stars — and very happy students!
