Mark Your Calendar and reserve your child's spot on the 2025 Summer Reading Bus on June 4, 11, 25 & July 2, 9, 16!
Hop aboard the Summer Reading Bus and head to McKinley Elementary for a farm-themed summer learning adventure. Each week, students will enjoy FREE books, games, prizes, and guest readers — along with a special themed program just for that week!
NEW for 2025, there will be six program dates, with each lasting two hours from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. In addition, there will be two books provided* to students for the One Book, One Summer program, where students will read the books together over the six weeks:
- Daisy Dawson on the Farm, by Steve Voake
- The Cranky Chicken, by Katherine Battersby
Special programs will vary by week, but will include: a program hosted by our very own Xenia High School FFA, a visit with a Highland Cow from the Dream Maker Farm Petting Zoo, a Science Fun program, and sweet treats from Kona Ice.
This program is free to attend, but remember that adults must stay on-site for the entire program. We are not staffed for drop-offs, and appreciate your understanding.
