Sixth Grade Open House

Warner to Host Incoming Sixth Grade Students at Open House
Posted on 03/01/2023

Warner Middle School will once again host an open house for current 5th grade students and their families on Thursday, March 9. The open house will allow students to begin the transition process to middle school and help calm the inevitable nerves associated with the change next school year. We want our current fifth graders to be excited about entering the sixth grade!

Since parking is limited due to the construction of the new middle school, there will be allocated times for each elementary to come and visit. Here are the following times that are scheduled for each elementary school:

  • Tecumseh and McKinley: Thursday, March 9 from 4:00 - 4:30 p.m.
  • Cox and Shawnee: Thursday, March 9 from 5:00 - 5:30 p.m.
  • Arrowood: Thursday, March 9 from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.
We realize these times may not work for every family due to work commitments. If a family can not make the allocated 4:00 or 5:00 time for their school, please consider coming during the 6:00 Arrowood time. There should be some parking spots available during this timeframe.

Because of the schedule, there will NOT be a formal talk with parents and students in the gym as we have done in the past. We ask that families enter through three marked entries and tour the school, visit and meet 6th grade and exploratory teachers, and head to the band room to try out an instrument. We will have cookies and refreshments in the main lobby and the counselor and principals will be there to greet families.

Plan about 30 minutes for the event and families should arrive no more than 10 minutes before their designated school time to allow for parking spots to open.
