Arrowood Elementary: Mack Slater
Arrowood Elementary is proud to announce Mack Slater as our Kid of Character. Mack is a first-grade student in Mrs. Lindsay's room. She says that Mack has all the qualities of a Kid of Character which include being respectful, being responsible, being a problem solver and doing his best! Mrs. Lindsay writes about Mack, " He is always respectful and ready to learn! The best thing about Mack is his empathy! He is always caring for others and their feelings. Mack has a gift for paying attention to the needs of others and finding ways to include others at recess." We are so proud of you, Mack!

Cox Elementary: Talia Weaver
Talia Weaver exhibits shining star behavior at school every day! Trait one is I will show respect. Talia shows respect to her classmates, her teacher, her belongings, and herself! She demonstrates this respect by always saying kind words to encourage others. Shining star trait two is responsibility. Talia is responsible for completing and turning in her homework daily (even asking for additional homework), waiting to get feedback, and working hard to keep track of her belongings to be successful in class each day. Trait three of a shining star is showing that I care. Talia demonstrates this trait by including other students during class or recess and holding the door for others. The fourth trait is I will be a problem solver. Talia is most certainly a problem solver in class. She will persevere through any math problem, NO matter what the challenge is! She will even encourage other students to be problem solvers or give ideas for how to solve the problem! The final shining star quality is I will shine with pride. Talia enters school daily with a smile and "shines" with pride as she goes throughout the school day! Talia most certainly a shining star here at school!

Her positive personality makes her a great classmate and friend. She is a wonderful role model who demonstrates courteous behavior in and out of the classroom. Gracie is an attentive and focused listener who works diligently during class and applies new learning daily. She speaks thoughtfully and respectfully and is quick to help when needed. Gracie exemplifies all aspects of our Character Strong program and we are excited to honor her!

Izzy Keller is being recognized for the Character Trait "Perseverance". In class Izzy has been working extremely hard. She is growing tremendously because of her attitude and effort. I enjoy having Izzy in class. She comes to school every day with a smile on her face! Her positive mindset helps her push through any challenges she faces in school. At Shawnee we are lucky to have such a great example for her peers! I'm proud of Izzy, keep doing your best Izzy!

Tecumseh Elementary: Adalyn Cardwell
In 5th grade, Adalyn continuously exemplifies kindness. She is always checking in with her classmates any time they look down or go through a struggle. She encourages others with positive feedback and is always rooting them on! Every morning Adalyn greets others with a “good morning” even when they arrive at school late. She comforts others and shows compassion throughout every day to ensure everyone feels good and never reflects any negativity on others! Her positivity and silliness bring a smile to all of our faces. Adalyn has consistently shown how treating others with kindness is always the best decision! Adalyn makes our class more welcoming and comforting to all! Tecumseh is really going to miss her next year!!

Xenia High School: Alari Kessel
Alari Kessel is one of the nicest students I know. She has been my library aide for three years now, and I've seen her demonstrate kindness, reliability, and respect towards others. She frequently asks me how she can help with tasks around the library, and willingly does what I ask her to do. I've seen her interactions with other students and she is always friendly, kind, and respectful. She is also responsible, making sure her homework and school tasks are completed to keep her grades high. She is definitely a wonderful Kid of Character
