Xenia High School’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) instructors and cadets received their annual unit assessment on January 15th and earned the Air Force's highest achievable rating of “Exceeds Standards.”
The cadets underwent multiple inspections on their uniforms, color guard, knowledge of the program, and drill to evaluate their performance and adherence to standards set forth by the Air Force.
Mr. Erik Pettyjohn, AFJROTC headquarters regional director, stated, “Xenia’s JROTC program is making a positive impact on the cadets, the school, and the community. In its fourth year as a program, it received an overall score of 97 out of 100. Xenia’s cadets have performed exceptionally well and should take pride in accomplishing their unit goals. They continue to improve each year and when I asked why they like JROTC, most cadets answered, 'Because it feels like a family'."
