Catalyst Counseling Partnership
Posted on 09/17/2021

Xenia Community Schools has partnered with Catalyst Counseling, LLC to offer a School Based Support Worker (SBSW) for the district. SBSW services are free to students and families and provide prevention, intervention and education services that help eliminate barriers to academic success.

SBSWs are able to provide:

  • Screening for mental health symptoms to help with emotional support and education
  • Development of Achievement Plans that focus on grades/credits
  • Referrals to community resources and agencies (food, clothing, utilities, shelter)
  • Suicide prevention
  • Coping skills and peer support groups
If you do not want your child to be seen by a Catalyst School Based Support Worker, please contact your child’s administrator directly.

For families who wish to take advantage of this resource, referrals to SBSW services can be made by school staff as well as parents/guardians. The SBSW will attempt to contact the guardian at the first meeting with the student. Signed consent by the parent or guardian is required by the 6th meeting of the student and SBSW.
