During the last weekend in April, four members of the XHS Academic Team competed at the History Bowl Junior Varsity National Championships in Arlington, Virginia. The team went up against teams from across the country, representing states ranging from Florida and California to New York! 

The team qualified for the competition by finishing as the runner up in the Ohio History Bee and History Bowl State Championships in March. This was the first time a team from Xenia qualified for IAC Nationals and the students represented the school well, finishing fourth in the small school bracket.

The students also qualified to compete in individual events: 

• Violet Black participated in the Political Science Bee, History Bee, and had a personal best in the US History Bee with eleven points. 
• Devon Bottorff competed in the Science Bee.
• Caden Vandergriff took part in the U.S. History Bee.
• Easton Butler qualified for the Geography Bee, U.S. History Bee, and History Bee.
