On Tuesday, May 16, four annual awards were given to musicians throughout the XHS Symphonic Band after their final concert of the 2022-2023 school year.
The
Director's Award for outstanding underclassman musicality was awarded to Ella Hernandez, junior percussionist. The
Arion Award for outstanding leadership was awarded to Ashton Anderson, senior flute player. The
Louis Armstrong Award for outstanding jazz musicality was awarded to Robert Banks, senior alto saxophone player. The
John Phillip Sousa Award for excellence in music and excellence in a leadership role was awarded to Robert Banks.
