09/30/20

  • "Congratulations to the Xenia Girls Volleyball teams on their wins last night against Stebbins! 

    JV White captured the win with Alize Porter leading in kills, Kenzie Schubert leading in services aces and Makayla Baumgardner shutting it down at the net!

    Varsity was led by Kendall Sherman with 17 kills! Jada McAvene also had a very good night with 15 kills, 5 aces, 16 digs, 6 assists and a block! Sydney Shuttleworth & Ciera Lloyd combined for 22 digs and Arison Boswell had 22 assists and 8 digs! Great job ladies! 

    The Bucs are back in action tomorrow night at Home vs Butler. JV Blue begins at 4:30 followed by JV White & Varsity. Good luck ladies! GO BUCS!"
  • Last night the Boys Soccer Team took on the defending state champions Tipp City. The boys fought hard, but fell 4-0 on the night. Special mention goes out to Nate Fellie in goal who made 19 saves in the game.
  • Tuesday afternoon the Lady Bucs Tennis Team travelled to Sidney. Winners of the match were the 1st Doubles Dynamic Duo of Seniors Julia King and Autumn McCray who won in split sets 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
    The 2nd Doubles team of Sophomores Maddy Moorman and Aubrey O’Bryant easily won their match 6–1, 6-0.
    The Lady Bucs will play this afternoon at Fairborn, and we return to our home courts at the fairgrounds tomorrow afternoon against West Carrollton. Come out and cheer our ladies on to victory!

    Tomorrow is the last day to vote for homecoming king and queen so seniors make sure to get your vote in.

    Speaking of voting student council will end their voter registration table this Friday. If you will be 18 by November 3rd please register to vote at your lunches!

  • Academic team meets today after school in Mr. Hartigan’s room. It’ll be more fun than a Roman triumph!
  • Today is space day, and your outfits are really out of this world! Tomorrow is class dress up day! Each grade has a different theme to dress up as. We want to see all you fantasy freshmen, Skater sophomores, jurassic juniors, and scientific seniors as well as tie-dye teachers! If you need ideas for what to wear, check out the posters in each stairwell for inspiration.Remember to get your raffle ticket in the morning for your chance to win awesome prizes!

Jada McAvene added 9 kills, 15 digs; Haley McManus cranked out 18 assists, 4 digs and a block and Sydney Shuttleworth had 14 digs!   • "Congratulations to the Xenia Girls Varsity Volleyball team on their takedown of Sidney in a 5 set thriller last week to remain on top of the MVL Valley division! Varsity was led by Jada McAvene with 13 kills, 16 digs and 4 blocks! Kendall Sherman added 9 kills, Haley McManus cranked out 26 assists and Sydney Shuttleworth got up 28 phenomenal digs! Great job ladies!  The Bucs are back in action tonight as they travel to Greenville for a 3 match contest. Good luck and GO BUCS!"

  • Seniors: Voting for Homecoming King and Queen is now open. Voting will only be open until Thursday. Make sure to get your votes in!
  • HAPPY SPIRIT WEEK! Today is superhero/villain day and there are some great outfits today! Remember if you dressed up to place your raffle ticket in one of the boxes to be entered to win a prize at the end of the week. Don't forget tomorrow is Space day! Get your NASA t-shirts, alien costumes, area 51 raider outfits ready. You can come as one of the planets or maybe a star or an astronaut!

  • Attention students wishing to take the ACT test this fall. TODAY, September 25th, is the last day to register for all 4 October ACT testing dates.    I repeat, Today is the last day to register for the October ACT dates!! There are a few spots still available for October 10th, 17th, and 25th, all tests will be administered here at Xenia High School!! If you have questions on how to register please visit the guidance office today. Make sure you don’t miss out on this great opportunity!
  • 1. Homecoming court will be live streamed today at the beginning of 8th period.  
    2. Spirit week begins next week, Monday is superhero/villain day.  Everyone that dresses up is entered to win some great prizes.
  •  Last night the boys’ soccer team travelled to West Carrollton and came away with a 8-0 win. Goal scorers were Ian Cushman with 4, and Jake Cloud, Brycen Heim, Jordan Dyamond and Nate Fellie with one each. Assisting on the goals were Brycen Heim

  • The Xenia Girls Golf Team captured their second consecutive MVL Championship last evening with a 3 stroke victory at Vandalia Butler. The match was intense, as whomever won the match, also brought home the trophy. Brynna Mardis was medalist with a 45, Olivia Wagner a 48, Darby Nolen had a 52, and Grace Bond a 57 to round out the scoring for the girls’ team. The Lady Bucs are a perfect 12-0 on the season and can set a new school record with a 13th win next Thursday at home vs. Stebbins. Congratulations, ladies.
  • Boys Basketball Open Gyms begin this evening from 7-8:30 in the Gym. Please wear a mask when entering and bring your own water to drink please. Once again, boys’ basketball open gym starts tonight from 7-8:30.

  • National voter registration day may have passed us by, but you can still register to vote for the November elections! Make your voice heard and register to vote at lunch. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Parker or Mrs. Petraiuolo.
  • Spirit week is only a few days away, so make sure to get your outfits ready! Monday is Superhero/ Villain day, Tuesday is space day, Wednesday is class dress up day, Thursday is throwback/vintage, and Friday is class color day. If you have any questions please see a Student Council member or Mrs. Petraiuolo.

    JV White was led by Paige Shouse with a number of service aces and kills to get it done in 2 sets, along with Lacey Bevan doing a great job getting digs and passes up! 

    Varsity was led by Haley McManus with 9 kills, 5 aces, 15 assists, 8 digs and a block! Kendall Sherman added another 7 kills, 6 aces; Jada McAvene added 7 kills, 12 digs, 3 assists, 2 blocks and Sydney Shuttleworth had 17 digs and 6 assists! Great job ladies! 

    The Bucs are back in action tomorrow as they travel to Sidney and battle it out to remain at the top of the MVL Valley division! Good luck ladies!

  • Yesterday afternoon the Lady Bucs tennis team hosted Stebbins. We fought hard and had a good match. Our winner from the contest was 3rd singles, Cayce Jones at 7-5, 7-6 tiebreaker.
    The Lady Bucs will celebrate senior night tomorrow at the fairgrounds at 4:15. Come on out and give them your support!
  • Last night the Boys Soccer team took on Fairborn. In the JV game, the Bucs fell 2-0. In the Varsity game the Bucs came away with a 3-0 victory. Goal scorers where Jake Cloud, Ian Cushman and Ethan Frisby. The goals were assisted by Jake cloud, with two, and Madix O'Bryant with one. Nate Fellie picked up the shutout in goal.
  • Xenia High School is participating in the State of Ohio's extended Seamless Summer Option for breakfast and lunch. Now through the end of the first semester - which is December 18 - ALL students will be able to receive one free breakfast AND one free lunch every school day. To qualify for a free lunch, all you have to do is take a nutritionally-complete meal - meaning you have to select an entrée, a fruit, a vegetable, and a drink. If you don't have all four items, you will have to pay for what you purchase. So don't just get a sandwich - get a full meal, and share the fruit or the veggies with someone. Or better yet - eat a complete lunch yourself!

9/21/20

  • Our first GSA meeting of the year is TODAY, after school, in Mrs. Ohrman's room B233. I repeat, we have a GSA meeting TODAY after school in room B233. All are welcome to attend!
  • Reminder that today is the Blue Crew meeting right after school in Mrs. Kadel’s room, Room B125.

  • Due to pictures in the gym, Boys Basketball Open Gym will not begin until
    Thursday evening from 7-8:30. Fall Sport Participants must finish their fall sport commitment before they attend. Also, wear a mask in to Open Gym, and bring your own water, as none will be provided. We will go over all the protocols once you arrive Thursday. Any questions, see Coach Anderson.
  • On Thursday afternoon the Lady Bucs Tennis team travelled to Sidney. Winners for the match were the first doubles team of seniors Julia King and Autumn McCray at 6-2, 6-0 and the doubles team of junior Kiera Doty and senior Meagan Sprowls at 8-2. Way to go ladies!!! Today we travel to Greenville. Wish the ladies luck!!!
  •  Academic team will meet after school on Tuesday in Mr. Hartigan’s room B216. Everyone is welcome, even Alyssa!
  • Xenia High School has now opened up some more dates for the ACT testing. You need to move quickly if you want to register for any of the ACT dates that may be available. You need to register at: act.org/bts
    Spots are limited. Make sure you upload a picture to your account. On test day you will need to bring with you your printed ticket, a photo ID, calculator, and pencil. Make sure you arrive around 7:45 am the day of the test to be checked in. The test starts promptly at 8:00 am.
  •  SENIORS: The picture you take in school tomorrow, September 22 is NOT your yearbook photo. This is for ProgressBook and FinalForms.

    For your senior photograph to be included in the 2020-2021 yearbook, a senior headshot must be taken at one of the two following studios:

9/16/20

  • Weight Lifting for wrestling will begin September 22nd right after school for those wrestlers not in a fall sport. Lifting will be every Tuesday and Thursday right after school until further notice. Go Bucs!
  • The Lady Bucs JV Tennis Team has played well over the past couple of days .The doubles team of juniors Alyssa Courtney and Meghan Parks had the only win of the contest against the Troy Trojans with a score of 8-4.
    The ladies had a big win yesterday afternoon against the Lady Indians of Piqua
    Senior Isabel Wickline won her singles match 8-2 and Junior Alyssa Courtney won 8–1.
    In doubles, juniors Kelsey Keller and Meghan Parks won their match 8-1.
    Juniors Serena Campbell and Andrea Shaw won 8-2, and Juniors Camdyn Thompson and Adaobi Iwuayanwu also won their match 7-5.
    Congratulations, ladies on a job well done!

    JV Blue got the night started right with their 2 set victory.

    JV White followed with another 2 set victory! 

    Lastly, Varsity finished the night with a 3 set win to remain at the top of the MVL Valley division! Varsity was led by Jada McAvene with 14 kills, 11 digs! Haley McManus added 9 kills, had 23 assists and 6 digs along with Sydney Shuttleworth adding another 14 digs! 

    Also thank you to all that came out to celebrate our AMAZING Seniors Macy Caupp, Ciera Lloyd and Makaya Simons on Senior Night!

Assists went to Ian Cushman with 2 and Jake Cloud, Madix O'Bryant, Logan Higgins, and Lucas Kunzelman having one each. JT Patterson and Nate Fellie combined for the shutout.
  • The Xenia Girls Golf Team defeated Troy last night on Senior Night by a score of 175-206. Brynna Mardis shot a 36 and Olivia Wagner a 39. Stacie Baxley fired a 48, and Grace Bond rounded out the scoring with a 52. The ladies are currently 9-0 and travel to Greenville tomorrow. Congratulations, ladies.

  • Unfortunately, there will be no homecoming dance this year. But, luckily there will still be a homecoming court that will be announced at the football game on October 2nd.   • On Tuesday afternoon the Lady Bucs Tennis Team defeated the Lady Pirates of West Carrollton. At 2nd Singles, Junior Allie Bogan won her match 6-2, 6-3. At 1st Doubles, seniors Julia King and Autumn McCray gave up no games to win 6-0, 6-0 and at 2nd Doubles, sophomores Maddy Moorman and Aubrey O'Bryant easily defeated their opponent 6-0, 6-0. Our next home match for our JV and Varsity teams will be next Monday at the Fairgrounds. Come on out to support our Lady Bucs!

  • Thanks everyone who came out last night and supported the Boys soccer team against Piqua. The JV team came away with a 2-0 victory on goals by Saleh Alsayed Essa and Chad Padgett, with assists going to Cayden Burrell and Saleh Alsayed Essa. JT Patterson had the shutout.In the late game the Varsity teams fell 3-2 on goals by Madix O'Bryant and Ian Cushman on assists for Logan Higgins and Landon Curtis.
  • Yesterday afternoon, the Lady Bucs Tennis Team hosted Fairborn and played hard!  The jv team shined with 4 wins. The dynamic dúos of Kelsey Kellner and Meghan Parks, Serena Campbell and Andrea Shaw, Alyssa Courtney and Hailey Whitehead and Ella Andreassen and Isabel Wickline all won their matches to bring the jv team to a win 4-2.   • Congratulations to the JV Blue Xenia Girls Volleyball team on their victory vs Greenville! The team fought back to secure the win after losing the first set. The comeback was led by Rebecca Hutchins and Olympia Wiley! What a GREAT TEAM EFFORT AND WIN! The JV Blue and JV White team will be back in action tomorrow morning as they travel to Butler to battle it out.   • The Xenia Lady Bucs Golf Team ran their record to a perfect 8-0 last night defeating Greenville 168-186. Junior Brynna Mardis led the Bucs with a 39, Olivia Wagner had a 40, Darby Nolen 42, and Grace Bond shot a 47 for Xenia. The ladies are off until Senior Night Monday Sept. 14. Congratulations ladies.

  • Congratulations to the Xenia Girls Volleyball teams with another win last night over Sidney!The JV White team battled it out again in 3 sets to secure their win and was led by Makayla Baumgardner and Arison Boswell in kills, assists and service points! The Varsity team took out Sidney in 4 sets and was led by Jada McAvene with 10 kills, 10 service aces, and 31 digs! Kendall Sherman added another 9 kills, Haley McManus added 8 kills and dished out 26 assists and Sydney Shuttleworth had 30 digs! What a GREAT TEAM EFFORT AND WIN! If you missed it be sure to check the match out on the Xenia YouTube channel! Also be sure to be at our Home match this Thursday as we battle it out with Greenville in a triple header!
