11/5/19

  • Seniors who are interested in attending Sinclair, Sinclair's High School Merit Scholarship application is now available. The priority application deadline is Dec. 15th. Apply by going to www.sinclair.edu/scholarships and click on the "Apply Online to Scholarships" button. You will need to apply for admission first if you have not. You will need your Sinclair username and password to access the scholarship application.
  • Xenia High School PowderPuff game is this Sunday! Freshman v. Sophomore game starts at 2:30pm and Junior Senior game starts at 3:30pm. The game is held at Doug Adams Field. Tickets are $5. Invite your family and friends to come support your class!
  • Dana Dyer, Vash Patel, Cortez Green, and Aaliyah Grooms report to the library.
  • POWDERPUFF SHIRTS ARE IN! If you ordered a shirt come to room B112 during your lunch mod or after school to pick up your shirt. SHIRTS WILL ONLY BE HANDED OUT DURING LUNCH MODS OR AFTER SCHOOL. If you can't come during these times today you can pick your shirt up tomorrow morning. If you come any other time you will be turned away.
  • This Christmas season, give back to those in our community by donating items to cancer patients. You can donate items such as socks, blankets, games, hats, gloves, and items to spread holiday cheer! Donations can be placed in Mrs. Tate’s room B213, Mrs. Petraiuolo’s room B112, the main office and the guidance office. Donations end December 11th. Thanks for all your help!
  • Marching Band and Color Guard will practice on WEDNESDAY after school, from 3:00 until 5:00 instead of Thursday. This is a change from what was announced earlier. See Mr. Johnson if you have questions.

  • The deadline to register for the December 14th ACT is next Friday, Dec. 8th.
  • It's National French Week! To celebrate French Club is sponsoring a snail hunt! A snail will be hidden in a classroom each day. Find it and bring it to Madame Evans in B219 and you will receive a prize. Do not interrupt classes to look for it. French Club students are not eligible to win.
  • As part of our Baskets for Battle fundraiser, tomorrow will be Hat Day! If you would like to wear a hat tomorrow you will need to pay $1 in the morning in the front lobby! Remember all proceeds are going to help raise money for Baskets for Battle! Again tomorrow is Hat Day for $1!
  • Arison Boswell, Ethan Williamson and Tye Dement please report to the library
  •  The Ohio JCI Senate C & E Foundation Scholarship Application is now available. This scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors who are U.S. Citizens graduating from Ohio Accredited schools, and plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. Applications are available in the Counselor's Office. The deadline for submitting the applications is January 24, 2020.
  • Many students borrowed chromebooks or chromebook chargers from the library today. If you are one of those students be sure to return it to the library before you leave today. (repeat please)

  • Please remember to Buckle Up. Every Trip. Every Time. The Greene County Safe Communities Coalition would like to thank our high schools for participating in our Fall Seat Belt Challenge. Winners will be announced next week.
  • Boys’ basketball tryouts begin Friday Nov. 1st. All candidates must have an up to date physical on file, and be on final forms before you can tryout. See Coach Anderson if you have any questions.
  • Congratulations to the Football team, coaches, cheerleaders and band on lastnights 42-0 victory over Fairborn!  The win clinches the school’s first playoff appearance! Bucs finish the regular season 9-1 and MVL champs!
  • Seniors and Juniors who are interested in attending an informational session, and tour of Urbana University needs to see Ms. Spitz in the Counselor's Office. The trip will be Nov. 21st. We will be eating lunch in their cafeteria. The cost will be $5.50. Permission slips must be turned in by Nov. 15th.
  • Come out tonight to see and hear Xenia High School Marching Buccaneers in concert at 7:00 tonight in the warmth of the Xenia High School Auditorium. Bring your donations of new hats, gloves, and scarves for the homeless. There will be a bin at the concert to receive these special items. See you there!
  • Jada: Ho Ho Ho! Will: Do you hear that? J: Ho Ho Ho! W: Oh boy! Could it be?! J: That’s right, it’s almost Christmas!! And you know what that means? W: Baskets For Battle! Help out by donating comforting items like blankets and gloves, hard candies, and unscented lotions.   • Thanksgiving is almost upon us, now is the time to give back! By donating blood you can save up to three lives. The Xenia High School blood drive is November 20th. All participants have to be 16 and over 110 lbs and have a parent permission slip. Permission slips can be found in the main office, guidance office, and outside room C114 and are due by November 13th. Please consider donating today

  • It is critical that teen drivers understand why they shouldn’t drive impaired! Driving impaired can result in strict penalties and loss of license. Remember to never drive under the influence of any kind and to always buckle up! 
  • Donating to baskets for battle helps cancer patients in the area feel appreciated. The baskets are filled with nice items such as socks, blankets, gloves, hats, puzzles, coloring books, toys, and more. The baskets give comfort to the patients and leave them and us with warm hearts. Donations are from November 1 till December 11 you can donate in room B112, B213, main office, and guidance offices.

  • In 2017, more than one-quarter of all teen drivers of passenger vehicles involved in fatal crashed were speeding at the time of crash, and males where more likely to be involved in fatal speeding-related crashes than females. Remember to slow down and buckle up
  • On Friday, November 8, Urbana University will be visiting Xenia High School. The presentation will be during 6th period in C105. Any Senior or Junior interested should sign up in the Guidance Office.
  • Blue Crew will be making posters for the football game today after school in Mrs. Petraiuolo's class. All are welcome!
  • Tryouts for the Xenia High School Bowling team begin on Monday, November 4th from 3:30-5:00 pm at BeaverVu Lanes. Physicals must be on file in order to tryout. Any further questions contact Mr. Rose in Room B212. THAT IS ALL
  • Help Student Council spread Christmas joy to local cancer patients with our Baskets for Battle Fundraiser. Help by donating items such as, fuzzy socks, blankets, hats, gloves, toys, and other warm items! You can start bringing in goods this Friday! Look for donation baskets around the school or see Mrs. Petraiuolo in B112 for more details.
  • Sophomores - If you missed the Greene County Career Center presentations on October 21st, please stop by the guidance office to pick up your information packet, Career Center field trip parent permission slip, and program selection form.   • Ohio University will be in the lunchroom today, stop by their table and talk with the representative
  • Picture retake day is tomorrow.Please note that $5.00 and the unopened original photo package must be provided to photographer at time of retake.
  • Distractions while driving are more than just risky – they can be deadly. In 2017, among teen drivers involved in fatal crashes, 9% were reported as distracted at the time of the rash. This group also has the largest percentage of drivers who were distracted at the time of crash. Remember to get focused and buckle up! 
  • The Symphonic & Concert Band will be collecting donations of hats, gloves and scarves to donate to the local Homeless Shelter at their concert tonight.Please come to hear their spectacular concert and also help the homeless of Xenia.
  • Students - You will find an email in your school email inbox inviting you to complete and submit a student survey.A link to the survey can also be found on the XHS website.Please complete the survey by November 4, 2019.
  • Sleigh this holiday season by donating to Baskets for Battle! StuCo will start our Baskets for Battle fundraiser this Friday! Help spread the Christmas cheer to local cancer patients by donating fuzzy socks, hats, gloves, blankets, and more! Anything that you have to offer will help greatly! Look for posters in the hallway or see Mrs. Petraiuolo in room B112 for more details!
  • BOO! Halloween is this Thursday! Make sure to dress up in your favorite costume, remember dress code still applies. No weapons, gore, or fake blood. There will be prizes for some of the best costumes!
  • The PowderPuff game has been moved to Sunday November 10th. The Freshman/Sophomore game will start at 2:30 pm and the Junior/Senior game will start at 3:30pm.

  • Wearing your seat belt is one of the simplest ways for you to stay safe in a vehicle! Yet too many teens aren’t buckling up, nor are their passengers. In fact, there were 539 passengers killed in passenger vehicles driven by teen drivers, and more than half of those passengers who died were NOT buckled up at the time of the fatal crash. Even more troubling, when the teen driver was unbuckled 87% of passengers killed were also unbuckled. BUCKLE UP TODAY! 
  • Any girl interested in playing Girls Basketball this upcoming season, there will be final High School tryouts TONIGHT from 5:00-8:00pm. Please be sure to attend and have your Physicals and Finalforms completed and turned in in order to tryout. If you have any questions be sure to contact Coach Threats.
  • Bruh, build your brain bigger! Varsity Academic Team is practicing on Tuesday and Wednesday this week in B207. JV Academic team meets this Wednesday in B216. Get those brain gains.

  • In 2017, there were 2,247 people killed in crashes involving a teen driver, of which 755 deaths were the teen driver. Please buckle up today!
  • College Preview Day for Central State University is Saturday, November 9 and is a power-packed event. Juniors and seniors who are interested in attending should sign-up with Mrs. Sharp in the guidance office no later than Friday, November 1st.

  • The fall AllState Seat Belt Challenge is underway among the high schools here in Greene County. So, let’s all work together to lower teen drivers’ fatal crash risk by buckling up when you leave today...both drivers and passengers
  • The Art Club WILL NOT be meeting today. We will meet next week at our regular time.
  • Mrs. Finkes' students should bring their Chromebooks and study materials to class.
  • Tonight, the Choirs will be presenting this year's Fall Vocal Showcase. Join us in the auditorium at 7pm for a night of beautiful music, featuring songs from some of everyone's favorite musicals: the Addams Family, Waitress, and of course, Hamilton! Admission is free and all guests should enter through the Main Lobby. See you there!

  • Whatever the occasion, whether it’s going to school, work, practice, games, or anywhere, wearing a seat belt is the easiest thing you can do to protect yourself, your friends, and your family. Want to invest in your friend’s life? Wear your seat belt. Research shows that many people only wear seat belts in the front, and not the back. So, Buckle Up... There’s just too much to lose! 
  • Today is a very exciting day in the world of chemistry. The atom is quite small (so small you can't really comprehend!) so chemists needed a really really really big number to represent the counting number we know as the mole. Just like a dozen is 12, a mole is 6 x 10 to the 23rd atoms. SO... we celebrate Mole day today on October 23rd. Stop by Mr. Richey's room for some complimentary mole droppings and...happy mole day.
  • Any girl interested in playing Girls Basketball this upcoming season, there will be 1 last open gym before Tryouts.   • Did you know that October 20th – 26th is National Teen Driver Safety Week? Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teens (15- 18 years old) in the United States, ahead of all other types of injury, disease, or violence. Remember to always buckle up! 
  • Spanish Club will have their next meeting on Monday, October 28. It's fiesta time!!! We will be learning about the Day of the Dead, playing games and making fun crafts! We need all members who plan to attend to stop by and sign up on the clipboard in Señora Scott's room about what party snack they will be bringing or send a text to la presidente, Jenna Casey, on Remind.   • The Greene County Safe Communities Coalition would like to welcome you to the 2019 Fall AllState Seat Belt Challenge. One day during the next two weeks, members of the coalition will conduct a seat belt survey as you leave the school grounds. More teens die from car crashes each year than anything else. We have increased seat belt use among Greene County High Schoolers from 83% to 95%! Let’s get it to 100% this Fall!  Let’s win this challenge XHS Buccaneers!    Buckle up when you leave today to arrive home safely! 
  • There is a Gay-Straight Alliance meeting today, after school, in Mrs. Wavra's room, C114. I repeat, there is a GSA meeting today, after school in room C114. We will be watching The Danish Girl and all are welcome to attend.
  • The Boys Soccer team wrapped up its season Saturday night with a postseason loss at Beavercreek. Season highlights include an 8-5-5 record, with Elliott Stratton and Jake Cloud being named to the All-MVL 1st team, Noah Frisby 2nd team and Brycen Heim as honorable mention. Nate Fellie and JT Patterson combined for 8 shutouts.
  • The Renaissance application is now available through your google classroom. 2nd quarter has some nice benefits. Don't miss them! Make sure you sign up this week. Please see Richey or Miller if you are having trouble finding the sign up form.

  • "Congratulations to the Xenia Varsity Volleyball team on securing a tourney Win last night against Stebbins! The Varsity team was led by Jada McAvene with 7 kills and Kendall Sherman added 6 kills! Haley McManus got our offense going by dishing out 14 assists, while Shyanne Hall and Sydney Shuttleworth cleaned up our defense by digging up several Stebbins attacks with of 8 digs a piece!

    Be sure to catch the team as they enter into the next round of tournaments tomorrow and take on conference for Sidney. Game time is 7:30pm at Centerville High School. Best of luck ladies and GO BUCS!"

  • Last night the Boys’ soccer team extended their season with a 2-0 postseason win over visiting Fairborn. Goals were scored by Brycen Heim and Noah Frisby on assists from Isaac Jopson and Nate Fellie, who also received the shutout. The Boys soccer team next takes on Beavercreek on Saturday night.

  • Attention all XHS students. National honor society is raising money this week for breast cancer. At lunch we will be collecting donations and students will be able to sign the wall of hope. Blue Crew and NHS would like all students to participate in a pink out on Thursday. Wear your favorite pink clothes!Friday we will send our mascot on a mission during the football game to collect donations. On Saturday, NHS is asking all students to participate in the Making Strides walk for breast cancer at fifth third field @ 9am. Meet by the pink ambulance.
  • Academic Team! Varsity practice will be Tuesday in Mr. McComb's room (B207) and JV will practice on Wednesday in Mr. Hartigan's room (B216).
  • The Cross Country competed in the MVL meet this past weekend. The girls placed second in the Valley Division. Leading the way for the girls was Sarah Scarborough, Grace Smith, Kelsey Merriman, Maddi Leverance and Madison Evans. The boys were led by Ethan Henry, Reed Scarborough , Cobi Haverfield, Xavier Feathers and Owen Robinson.

  • Now that school is back in full swing, the School District has been made aware that there are people finding more trash and litter on the roads around the High School. Please remember that the parking lot, the streets, and the yards of our neighbors are NOT appropriate places for students to leave trash. So the High School is asking students and teachers to be responsible with your trash, and dispose of it properly. Thank you.

  • Congratulations to Nate Saner and Anna Carlson for being cast in the Muse Machine production of "In the Heights," which will be performed at the Victoria Theatre in Dayton in January! Out of 150 students from the Dayton area who auditioned, Nate was selected for the lead role. Congratulations, Nate and Anna! We will be taking a group of students and teachers to see their performance in January. See Mrs. Burgess if you are interested in going to the show.

  • The Xenia Lady Buccaneers Jr. Varsity volleyball team defeated Stebbins 2-0 (25-20, 25-16). Xenia 12-8 overall, 9-7 in the Miami Valley League and 5-1 in the Valley Division was led by Kendall Sherman 7 kills, 4 digs, 2 aces, assist and a block, Makaya Simons 7 kills, 2 aces and 2 digs, Brianna Maloney 20 assist, 2 kills and 2 aces, Grace Turner 4 kills, 3 digs and 2 aces and Kylie Wallace 5 kills and 2 aces.
  • The first practice for Academic Team will be after school next Thursday in B216.
  • Congratulations to the DECA members in yesterday's competition. 1st place goes to Meyah Pillow in the Retail Merchandising competition and Issac McFall and Ben Hatfield who both placed 1st in Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team.
  • Congratulations to the Xenia Girls Volleyball program who had all 3 teams shutdown Stebbins last night!"   The Freshmen were led by Arianna Corbett in kills, Arison Boswell with multiple assists and Gracee Cassidy in digs! The Varsity team was led by Jada McAvene with 9 kills, 9 digs and Macy Caupp shut their offense down with 11 blocks! Haley McManus dished out 20 assists while Shyanne Hall and Kendall Sherman had 7 digs each.  Dont forget next week the Volleyball team has its 2 final home matches. So be sure to check them out and support your Volleyball Seniors!

  • The girls golf team finished 2nd yesterday out of 18 teams to qualify for next week's District tournament. This is the first time the ladies have ever qualified as a team. Olivia Wagner finished with a 76 to place 2nd overall out of 90 girls who competed. Brynna Mardis had a 92, Darby Nolen a 97, and Stacie Baxley a 102. Congratulations ladies, and good luck next Thursday at Beavercreek in District play.

  • The girls’ golf team won the MVL Girls Golf Tournament Saturday by 4 strokes over Greenville to claim their first ever Girls Golf League Championship. Olivia Wagner was 1st in the entire tournament with a 79. Brynna Mardis shot a 93 to gain first team all conference honors with Wagner. Darby Nolen and Grace Bond were named to the second team all conference. The ladies play in the Sectional Tournament this Wednesday. Congratulations Lady Bucs, and good luck Wednesday.

  • The Xenia Lady Buccaneers Jr Varsity volleyball team won all three of their matches this week with a big win over Sidney 2-1 (18-25,25-16,25-21). Xenia 10-8 overall 7-7 in the Miami Valley Conference 5-1 in the Valley Division was led by Brianna Maloney with 23 assist, 3 digs and 2 kills, Grace Turner 7 kills, 3 aces and 2 digs, Makaya Simons 7 kills, 2 digs and ace, Kylie Wallace 6 kills. 2 digs and ace, Laurel Huff 5 kills, dig and block, Kendall Sherman 4 kills, 8 digs and 2 aces and Isabella Propes 13 digs.
  • French Club is cancelled. We will reschedule tie-dying.

  • Last evening the Lady Bucs Tennis Team hosted their final match of the season against Lebanon. The girls enjoyed the senior night festivities and super senior Ally Baker played her final singles match and defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-3. The ladies head to sectionals next Wednesday. Please wish them luck!
  • Last night the boys’ soccer team was in action again with the JV team beating Springfield 4-1. the goal scorers where Tyreece Peterson, Gage Prether, Chad Padgett and Landon Curtis. Tanner Prether, Jonathan Patterson and Jake Stefan picked up assists. The Varsity team hosted Urbana for senior night and came away with a 4-1 victory. Goal scorers were Ian Cushman, Mouhammadou Seck, Noah Frisby and Elliot Stratton. Noah Frisby, Isaac Jopson and Brycen Heim had assists.

  • "Congratulations to the Xenia Girls Volleyball JV & Varsity teams on their VICTORY last night over Legacy Christian!   The Varsity team was led by Tristin Conner with 10 kills, 6 aces, 12 digs, 3 blocks. Jada McAvene and Camille Hughes each had 6 kills while Haley McManus dished out 16 assists. Jada McAvene also had 11 digs and Camille Hughes had a block party with 5 blocks!   Way to go Bucs! The team will be back in action tonight as they travel to Piqua in a 2nd matchup and try to capture the dub!      Best of luck tonight and GO BUCS!

  • The Marching Band and Guard participated in the Jackson Apple Festival Band Show and Parade this past weekend. Participating bands and color guards in the parade were judged by a panel of expert judges and ranked by classification. Categories judged for bands were MUSIC and MARCHING. The results are in! Out of 5 participating bands in our classification, Xenia's band was awarded SECOND PLACE honors. For color guards, areas judged included creativity, precision, and execution. Xenia's color guard was awarded FIRST PLACE honors out of the 5 color guard units in our category. this is the second year in a row that our color guard has won first place honors. Congratulations to our color guard!

Senior Cassidy Coonrod and junior Isabel Wickline finished up the match winning 6-2.
  • The Xenia Lady Buc Golf Team defeated Piqua last by a score of 182-209. Brynna Mardis was medalist with a 39, followed by Olivia Wagner 40, Stacie Baxley 50, and Grace Bond with a 53. The ladies are now 10-4 and host Greeneview today at WGC.

The Varsity team also pulled out a hard fought 2-0 win on 2 goals from Jake Cloud assisted by Noah Frisby and Ian Cushman. JT Patterson was excellent in goal making 12 save on his way to the shutout.

  • On October 29, 2019, Xenia High School female senior and junior students, will be able to attend a conference showing young women immersive next gen technology, on-site hands on experiences! This will be held at the Miamisburg Training Site and is presented by Ohio Operating Engineers Apprenticeship. Students will leave Xenia High School at 9am and return @ 3pm; Parent permission signature required.; Please return the permission form to the Guidance Office by Friday, Oct. 11
  • The Miami Valley Christian College Fair will be Sept. 16, 6-8 pm at Troy Christian High School. Emory University will be visiting Centerville High School Sept. 30th at 6:00 pm if you are interested. Please register with Emory University Office of Undergraduate Admission if you plan to attend.

The late game saw the Varsity team tie 3-3 on 2 goals from Jake Cloud and a goal from Ian Cushman. Simon Dykman, Elliot Stratton and Noah Frisby had assists.

  • Brynna Mardis went 2 under par over the final 4 holes yesterday to Card a 40 and lead the Xenia Lady Buc Golf Team to a win over conference rival Butler by a score of 186-206. Olivia Wagner scored a 41, Grace Bond 51, and Darby Nolen 54. The ladies host Alter today at 3:30 at WGC.

  • Auditions for this year's Fall Play, "Robin Hood, " will be held after school this coming Monday September 16 and Tuesday September 17. All are welcome to audition, just stop by the bulletin board outside the Choir/Theater room to sign up. Please also bring your completed information sheet to your audition. The theater department is also looking for those interested in participating in Tech Crew, which includes construction of set pieces, props, and costumes, as well as lighting and sound during the show. Those interested in Tech Crew should fill out an information sheet by the Choir Room and return it to Mr. Matson as soon as possible.
  • Homecoming court ballots are on your grade's google classroom. Make sure to vote! Voting will only be open until Thursday at 11:59 pm!
  • Last evening the Xenia Lady Bucs Tennis Team won their match against the Lady Pirates of West Carrollton. Junior Julia King won her singles match in split sets 2-6, 7-5, 6-4. Sophomore Allison Bogan defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-3. In doubles, the dynamic duo of seniors Ally Baker and Anna Carlson won their match 6-0, 6-3, and senior Sarah Bogan teamed up with freshman, Aubrey O'Bryant to win their match in three sets 6-7, 6-0, 6-0. The JV doubles team of freshmen Madyson Moorman and Hailey Whitehead also shut out their opponents with a pro set score of 8-0. The Lady Bucs will be on the road for two days and will return for a home match against Stebbins on Thursday at the Fairgrounds Rec Center. Please come out to support our lady Bucs as they take on the Lady Indians at 4:30 pm.
  • There is a blue crew meeting after school at 2:30 in B112, Mrs. Petraiuolo’s room. If you can’t make the meeting stop by during the day to get information that will be discussed in the meeting.
  • The Xenia Lady Bucs Golf Team set a school record for lowest team score last night defeating Northmont by a score of 162-199. The ladies were led by Olivia Wagner with a 36, Brynna Mardis 40, Darby Nolen 41, and Stacie Baxley a 45. Congratulations ladies. The Lady Bucs host Butler tonight at Country Club of the North at 4 pm.

  • The girls’ Cross Country team finished in 6th place this weekend at the Brookville Invitational. The girls were led by Sarah Scarborough, Grace Smith, Kelsey Merriman, Olivia Smith and Maddi Leverance. The boys’ top finishers were Ethan Henry, Cobi Haverfield and Reed Scarborough.
  • Any girl interested in playing girls basketball this upcoming season should stop by the main office or Athletic Office and pick up a Preseason Weights, Conditioning and Open Gym schedule. There will also be Individual skill work sessions available thru sign up so make sure you contact Coach Threats to secure a slot!
  • Weights start today 4-5pm and will be every Monday & Wednesday 4-5pm thru the end of October.

Xenia 5-4 overall 3-3 in the Miami Valley League was led by Kendall Sherman with 6 kills, 5 aces and 3 digs, Makaya Simons with 4 kills, 3 digs and a assist, Kylie Wallace 3 kills and a dig, Grace Turner 3 kills and a ace and Isabella Propes with 13 digs.
  • Yesterday the Lady Bucs Tennis team travelled to Sidney and the dynamic duo of junior Isabel Wickline and sophomore Alyssa Courtney defeated their opponents 6-4.   • The Xenia Lady Buccaneers Jr. Varsity volleyball team even its record to 4-4 with a win over Greeneview 2-1 (25-14, 13-25,25-10). Xenia was led by Makaya Simons with 5 aces, 3 digs and 2 kills, Kendall Sherman with 2 aces, 5 digs, and 3 kills, Jayden Collier 3 aces and 9 digs and Brianna Maloney with an ace, 3 digs, 6 assist and a kill.
  • Yesterday evening the Lady Bucs Junior Varsity Tennis Team took on our backyard rivals, the Lady Beavers of Beavercreek and won the battle with a clean sweep! At 1st singles, sophomore Cayce Jones won her pro set match 8-3. In doubles, the team of senior Cassidy Coonrod and junior Isabel Wickline defeated their opponents 8-4. Sophomores Kelsey Kellner and Abbi Severt teamed up to win their match with a score of 8-0. Sophmores Alyssa Courtney and Meghan Parks also defeated their opponents 8-1, and the freshman team of Madyson Moorman and Hailey Whitehead won their backyard battle 8-1. Way to go ladies!! This afternoon the Lady Bucs are up for the challenge as we travel to Sidney. Please wish all of our girls’ tennis team the best of luck!

  • Last evening the Lady Bucs Tennis team had a great match and defeated the lady Knights of Greenon. At 2nd singles, junior Julia King won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. At 3rd singles, sophomore Allison Bogan also won 6-0, 6-0. At 1st doubles, the senior team of Ally Baker and Anna Carlson won their match 6-0, 6-3 and at 2nd doubles senior Sarah Bogan and freshman Aubrey O'Bryant won 6-1, 6-1. The Lady Bucs will be back on their home courts at 4:30 this afternoon at the Fairgrounds Rec Center where they will host a match against the Lady Beavers of Beavercreek. Come out to the courts to support our ladies and cheer them on to victory.
  • Last night the Xenia Boys soccer team travelled to Troy to face the trojans. The JV boys came away with a 1-0 victory on a smooth goal from Tyreece Peterson and a shutout by JT Patterson. The Varsity boys came away with a hard fought tie 3-3. Goals were scored by Isaac Jopson assisted by Brycen Heim, Noah Frisby assisted by Elliot Stratton and the game tying by Isaac Jopson from Jake Cloud with only 90 seconds left in the match. Additional standout performances were had by goalkeeper Nate Fellie and center back Elliott Stratton.

  • The Miami Valley Christian College Fair will be Sept. 16, 6-8 pm at Troy Christian High School. Emory University will be visiting Centerville High School Sept. 30th at 6:00 pm if you are interested. Please register with Emory University Office of Undergraduate Admission if you plan to attend.
  • Homecoming Dance Guest Forms are available in the Main Office.Completed forms are due to the Main Office by Monday, September 23, 2019 at 2:30pm.Please be certain to attach a copy of your date’s photo ID to the completed form.
  • If you would like to be on the ballot for the 2019 Homecoming court you must put your name on the sign up sheet outside Mrs. Petraiuolo’s room, B112. Names will only be taken until this Friday!

  • The Boys Golf Team victory over previously undefeated Sidney Thursday night was decided by a tiebreaker of the fifth man score. The total team effort was led by freshman Wyatt Cowdrey and his score of 42. The quartet of Kyle Lane, Aaron Adkins, Garrett Cowdrey, and Aaric Burr each finished the day with round of 45. Congratulations Bucs.
  • Boys' soccer players and football players needing a ride to Doug Adams Stadium immediately after school should ride bus 8 or Bus 47.
  • Attention Student Council Freshman interested in being a class officer, your forms are due next Wednesday (September 4th) during the 7 am meeting or 5th period during lunch in Mrs. Petraiuolo’s room in B112. Make sure you have all of the teacher and student signatures filled out.

  • National Honor Society executive board members. We will have our first executive meeting on Tuesday 8/27 in B237 @ 7am. This is only for executive board members.
  • Baseball workouts will begin Tuesday, September 3rd at 2:30 in the weight room. Workouts will take place every Tuesday and Thursday through October. Players not playing a fall sport should attend. Workouts will end at 4:30. The focus will be weight training, conditioning, Driveline workouts, and hitting. Contact Coach Claus for more information.

  • Congratulations to the volleyball team and boys’ soccer team on their victories last night over West Carrollton. The volleyball team took out the pirates in 4 sets to improve to 3-0 on the year. The boys’ soccer team was victorious 3-0 to improve to 2-0 on the season! Great job Bucs!

  • Congratulations to the girls’ golf team on their big win over Tippecanoe 187-188 last night. Junior Olivia Wagner was medalist after firing a 38, sophomore Brynna Mardis shot a 41 to help lead the Bucs to the big MVL win.
