9/17/19

  • Attention all you gamers! Once again, this is a reminder that Gamers Club is cancelled for today. We'll see you next week!
  • There will be a meeting Wednesday morning at 7:20 in the gym for all boys who plan on playing High School Basketball this upcoming season. See Mr. Anderson for details.
  • Next week is Spirit Week! The themes are as follows: Monday- VSCO girl Tuesday- Beach/Lifeguard Wednesday Cartoon/Disney/Pixar Thursday- Y2K Friday- Class color Please listen to the announcements, and look at the posters in the hallways for theme details, and what you can and can't wear each day!

  • The Xenia Lady Buccaneers Jr. Varsity volleyball team defeated West Carrollton 2-0 (25-16, 25-19). Xenia 7-6 overall and 5-5 in the conference was led by Brianna Maloney with 6 assist, 3 digs, 2 kills and a ace, Kendall Sherman with 4 aces, 4 kills, and 7 digs, Grace Turner with 3 kills, 2 digs, a block and a assist and Isabella Propes with 9 digs.
  • Congratulations to the Xenia Girls Volleyball program on their VICTORY last night over West Carrollton. The Freshmen, Junior Varsity and Varsity all won and secured another conference win! The Varsity team was led by Jada McAvene with 12 kills, 11 digs and Tristin Conner with 10 kills, 9 digs. Haley McManus dished out 27 assists while Shyanne Hall got the ball up with 15 digs and Molly Brown added another 12 digs!  Way to go Bucs! There will be much more EXCITING volleyball action taking place tonight at Home starting with Freshmen at 4:30, followed by JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7pm.  Come check us out and GO BUCS!

9/16/19

  • On October 29, 2019, Xenia High School female senior and junior students, will be able to attend a conference showing young women immersive next gen technology, on-site hands on experiences! This will be held at the Miamisburg Training Site and is presented by Ohio Operating Engineers Apprenticeship. Students will leave Xenia High School at 9am and return @ 3pm; Parent permission signature required.; Please return the permission form to the Guidance Office by Friday, Oct. 11
  • The Miami Valley Christian College Fair will be Sept. 16, 6-8 pm at Troy Christian High School. Emory University will be visiting Centerville High School Sept. 30th at 6:00 pm if you are interested. Please register with Emory University Office of Undergraduate Admission if you plan to attend.
  • Tuesday after school in Mr. Richey's room will be the weekly Bible study. Come if you know lots or little about the Bible. See Mr. Richey in B228 if you have any questions.
  • Student Council is selling Homecoming t-shirts! They are $10. You can pick up and order from outside B112. Orders must be in by THIS Wednesday!

  • Saturday night the Boys’ Soccer team took on Legacy Christian Academy and came away with a 5-0 victory. Goals were scored by Lucas Kunzelman, Brycen Heim, Ian Cushman, and Jake Cloud with 2. AJ Ruffin, Isaac Jopson, Noah Frisby and Logan Higgins had assists. Nate Fellie and JT Patterson combined for the shutout.
  • The XSTAT meeting originally scheduled for this afternoon has been postponed until Thursday.
  • The Senior MCs for the fall pep rally are Calli Jones and Nate Saner! Thank you to everyone who auditioned!

  • Last night the Boys Soccer traveled to Wilmington to play the Hurricanes. The JV team fought to a 1-0 victory on a goal by Jake Stefan, with JT Patterson getting the shutout. The late game saw the Varsity team tie 3-3 on 2 goals from Jake Cloud and a goal from Ian Cushman. Simon Dykman, Elliot Stratton and Noah Frisby had assists.
  • Make sure to listen to the afternoon announcements for Homecoming Court winners!
  • Pep Rally MC auditions are today! Come by Mrs. Petraiuolo's room, B112, during your lunch to audition!
  • The Xenia Lady Buccaneers Jr. Varsity Volleyball team even its record to 6-6 (5-5) in the conference with a conference win over Fairborn 2-0 (25-12,25-13). Xenia was led by Grace Turner with 4 aces, 4 kills and a block, Brianna Maloney with 4 digs, 3 assist, 2 aces and a kill and Makaya Simons with 3 aces, 4 digs and a kill.

  • XSTAT stands for Xenia Students Taking Action Together. If you are interested in making a difference in our school, consider joining this wonderful group. It is open to all students in grade 9-12.There will be an XSTAT meeting on Monday, September 16 and 2:35 in Mrs. Burgess's room.
  • The Xenia Lady Bucs Golf Team avenged an early season 28 stroke loss last night by defeating Alter 170-174. Olivia Wagner was medalist with a 35, followed by Brynna Mardis 43, Grace Bond 44, and Darby Nolen 48. The ladies are now 8-4 on the season, and will travel to Fairmont next Tuesday.
  • Homecoming Tickets will be on sale starting tomorrow at lunch. Tickets are $10 per person.
  • There will be a Student Council Meeting on Wednesday September 18th at 7:00 AM in the library! We hope to see everyone there!
  • Voting for Homecoming court ends today! Get on google classroom and vote!

  • Are you still looking for a Homecoming Dress? Mad Cab Events is hosting a Homecoming Dress Resale Event this weekend September 14th and 15th from 10:00 am to 3 pm. The event is located at 59 East Main St in Enon. If you have any questions about attending this event or how to sell an old dress, please see Ms. Winston at Lunch.
  • If you are interested in the performing arts, there is still time to join Muse Machine! See Mrs. Burgess in Room C113 for an application. You must submit your application before you can audition for "In the Heights!"
  • Brynna Mardis went 2 under par over the final 4 holes yesterday to Card a 40 and lead the Xenia Lady Buc Golf Team to a win over conference rival Butler by a score of 186-206. Olivia Wagner scored a 41, Grace Bond 51, and Darby Nolen 54. The ladies host Alter today at 3:30 at WGC.
  • There is a student council officers meeting this Friday during your lunch. Make sure to be there, we will be judging for MC!

9/10/19

  • Auditions for this year's Fall Play, "Robin Hood, " will be held after school this coming Monday September 16 and Tuesday September 17. All are welcome to audition, just stop by the bulletin board outside the Choir/Theater room to sign up. Please also bring your completed information sheet to your audition. The theater department is also looking for those interested in participating in Tech Crew, which includes construction of set pieces, props, and costumes, as well as lighting and sound during the show. Those interested in Tech Crew should fill out an information sheet by the Choir Room and return it to Mr. Matson as soon as possible.
  • Homecoming court ballots are on your grade's google classroom. Make sure to vote! Voting will only be open until Thursday at 11:59 pm!
  • Last evening the Xenia Lady Bucs Tennis Team won their match against the Lady Pirates of West Carrollton. Junior Julia King won her singles match in split sets 2-6, 7-5, 6-4. Sophomore Allison Bogan defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-3. In doubles, the dynamic duo of seniors Ally Baker and Anna Carlson won their match 6-0, 6-3, and senior Sarah Bogan teamed up with freshman, Aubrey O'Bryant to win their match in three sets 6-7, 6-0, 6-0. The JV doubles team of freshmen Madyson Moorman and Hailey Whitehead also shut out their opponents with a pro set score of 8-0. The Lady Bucs will be on the road for two days and will return for a home match against Stebbins on Thursday at the Fairgrounds Rec Center. Please come out to support our lady Bucs as they take on the Lady Indians at 4:30 pm.
  • There is a blue crew meeting after school at 2:30 in B112, Mrs. Petraiuolo’s room. If you can’t make the meeting stop by during the day to get information that will be discussed in the meeting.
  • The Xenia Lady Bucs Golf Team set a school record for lowest team score last night defeating Northmont by a score of 162-199. The ladies were led by Olivia Wagner with a 36, Brynna Mardis 40, Darby Nolen 41, and Stacie Baxley a 45. Congratulations ladies. The Lady Bucs host Butler tonight at Country Club of the North at 4 pm.
  • If you haven't heard yet, there is a college fair this evening at the Dayton Metro Library, downtown Dayton from 4-6pm! Spread the word- It's Free and it is a great way for students to learn about different colleges, meet with representatives to answer any questions AND they will have information about ACT/SAT practice test (ALL FOR FREE) !! Don't miss this great opportunity!

  • Attention all artists, the GSA needs your help! We are making posters today, after school in room B233. I repeat there is a Gay-Straight Alliance meeting today, after school, so come and make some art with us!
  • Attention current NHS members, we will have our first general meeting this Thursday, September 12th in B237 @7am. See you there!!!
  • Wright State University will be in B109 during lunch on Tuesday, Sept 10. Seniors stop in to hear their presentation during your lunch.
  • The girls’ Cross Country team finished in 6th place this weekend at the Brookville Invitational. The girls were led by Sarah Scarborough, Grace Smith, Kelsey Merriman, Olivia Smith and Maddi Leverance. The boys’ top finishers were Ethan Henry, Cobi Haverfield and Reed Scarborough.
  • Any girl interested in playing girls basketball this upcoming season should stop by the main office or Athletic Office and pick up a Preseason Weights, Conditioning and Open Gym schedule. There will also be Individual skill work sessions available thru sign up so make sure you contact Coach Threats to secure a slot!
  • Weights start today 4-5pm and will be every Monday & Wednesday 4-5pm thru the end of October. 
  • Attention all drivers! It is extremely important that ALL DRIVERS be registered at the high school and have the current hangtag. DON'T GET CAUGHT WITHOUT ONE!! The $5 fee must be turned in with your salmon-colored application to the fees window or main office. Your hangtag will be issued after your application has been processed.

  • Yesterday the Lady Bucs Tennis team travelled to Sidney and the dynamic duo of junior Isabel Wickline and sophomore Alyssa Courtney defeated their opponents 6-4. The Lady Bucs will return to their home courts at the Fairgrounds next Monday at 4:30 pm. Come out to support our Girls Tennis Team as they host a match against Northridge.

  • Hey all of you classy XHS students. Starting Tuesday after school in Mr. Richey's room, the weekly Bible study will begin. Come for fun discussion, come to learn more about the Bible, or come just to annoy Mr. Richey. They Bible study will last until 3:00 PM. See Mr. R if you have questions.

Xenia was led by Makaya Simons with 5 aces, 3 digs and 2 kills, Kendall Sherman with 2 aces, 5 digs, and 3 kills, Jayden Collier 3 aces and 9 digs and Brianna Maloney with an ace, 3 digs, 6 assist and a kill.
  • Yesterday evening the Lady Bucs Junior Varsity Tennis Team took on our backyard rivals, the Lady Beavers of Beavercreek and won the battle with a clean sweep! At 1st singles, sophomore Cayce Jones won her pro set match 8-3. In doubles, the team of senior Cassidy Coonrod and junior Isabel Wickline defeated their opponents 8-4. Sophomores Kelsey Kellner and Abbi Severt teamed up to win their match with a score of 8-0. Sophmores Alyssa Courtney and Meghan Parks also defeated their opponents 8-1, and the freshman team of Madyson Moorman and Hailey Whitehead won their backyard battle 8-1. Way to go ladies!! This afternoon the Lady Bucs are up for the challenge as we travel to Sidney. Please wish all of our girls’ tennis team the best of luck!

  • Last evening the Lady Bucs Tennis team had a great match and defeated the lady Knights of Greenon. At 2nd singles, junior Julia King won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. At 3rd singles, sophomore Allison Bogan also won 6-0, 6-0. At 1st doubles, the senior team of Ally Baker and Anna Carlson won their match 6-0, 6-3 and at 2nd doubles senior Sarah Bogan and freshman Aubrey O'Bryant won 6-1, 6-1. The Lady Bucs will be back on their home courts at 4:30 this afternoon at the Fairgrounds Rec Center where they will host a match against the Lady Beavers of Beavercreek. Come out to the courts to support our ladies and cheer them on to victory.
  • Last night the Xenia Boys soccer team travelled to Troy to face the trojans. The JV boys came away with a 1-0 victory on a smooth goal from Tyreece Peterson and a shutout by JT Patterson. The Varsity boys came away with a hard fought tie 3-3. Goals were scored by Isaac Jopson assisted by Brycen Heim, Noah Frisby assisted by Elliot Stratton and the game tying by Isaac Jopson from Jake Cloud with only 90 seconds left in the match. Additional standout performances were had by goalkeeper Nate Fellie and center back Elliott Stratton.
  • The trailer is in place! Help Xenia beat Fairborn this week in the Goodwill Drive toVictory Marching Band Edition!! Accepting donations at Xenia High School from 8am-7pm through Thursday, 9/5, and 8am-12pm on Friday, 9/6. Got a car to donate? Call 228-AUTO to arrange the donation and we get an automatic 1,000 pounds added to our total trailer weight at the end of the week!!

  • If you would like to be on the ballot for the 2019 Homecoming court you must put your name on the sign up sheet outside Mrs. Petraiuolo’s room, B112. Names will only be taken until this Friday!
  • Anyone who is interested in the performing arts is invited to attend an informational meeting about Muse Machine tomorrow after school in Mrs. Burgess’ room, C113. We will be learning about various opportunities to see shows outside of school.
  • Attention Student Athletic Advisory Committee Members – There will be a meeting tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) right after school – in the auditorium – that will last five minutes.

8/30/19

  • The Boys Golf Team victory over previously undefeated Sidney Thursday night was decided by a tiebreaker of the fifth man score. The total team effort was led by freshman Wyatt Cowdrey and his score of 42. The quartet of Kyle Lane, Aaron Adkins, Garrett Cowdrey, and Aaric Burr each finished the day with round of 45. Congratulations Bucs.
  • Boys' soccer players and football players needing a ride to Doug Adams Stadium immediately after school should ride bus 8 or Bus 47.
  • Attention Student Council Freshman interested in being a class officer, your forms are due next Wednesday (September 4th) during the 7 am meeting or 5th period during lunch in Mrs. Petraiuolo’s room in B112. Make sure you have all of the teacher and student signatures filled out.

  • The boys and girls Cross Country teams ran at the Bob Shul Invitational this weekend. Top runners for the boys were Ethan Henry, Cobi Haverfield, Austin Schubert, Reed Scarborough and Xavier Feathers. The girls were led by Sarah Scarborough, Kelsey Merriman, Grace Smith, Olivia Smith and Maddi Leverance.
  • ITS GAME WEEK, pre sale football tickets will be on sale Wednesday and Thursday during all lunches.  All pre sale tickets this year are $5.00, I repeat all pre sale tickets are $5.00. Tickets at the gate are $8.00
  • The XHS Boys’ Varsity and Reserve golf matches have been cancelled for tonight.

  • National Honor Society executive board members. We will have our first executive meeting on Tuesday 8/27 in B237 @ 7am. This is only for executive board members.
  • Baseball workouts will begin Tuesday, September 3rd at 2:30 in the weight room. Workouts will take place every Tuesday and Thursday through October. Players not playing a fall sport should attend. Workouts will end at 4:30. The focus will be weight training, conditioning, Driveline workouts, and hitting. Contact Coach Claus for more information.

  • Football is back come check out the Bucs football team tonight at home vs Fairmont freshman play at 5pm varsity at 7pm admission is $5.
  • Friday night girls and boys soccer take center stage at home vs Greeneview. Girls at 5:30 and boys 7:15. We want a great student section. Student tickets will be sold for just $2 during all lunches on Friday, buy your ticket early and support the soccer programs, all tickets at the gate will be regular price.

  • Xenia football fans tomorrow night is your first chance to catch the varsity football team in action this year as they play Fairmont at 7pm in a jamboree game, all tickets are $5.00.Please come out and support the bucs.
  • Congratulations to the volleyball team and boys’ soccer team on their victories last night over West Carrollton. The volleyball team took out the pirates in 4 sets to improve to 3-0 on the year. The boys’ soccer team was victorious 3-0 to improve to 2-0 on the season! Great job Bucs!

  • Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Boys soccer team last night in their 3-0 win at West Carrollton. Goal scorers were Jake Cloud with one and Noah Frisby with two. Brycen Heim had two assists and Jake Cloud had one. JT Patterson and Nate Fellie combined for the shutout.

  • Congratulations to the girls’ golf team on their big win over Tippecanoe 187-188 last night. Junior Olivia Wagner was medalist after firing a 38, sophomore Brynna Mardis shot a 41 to help lead the Bucs to the big MVL win.
  • Congratulations to the girls’ volleyball team who won their 2nd straight match of the year taking down Wilmington in straight sets!  The ladies are in action tonight at home vs West Carrollton.  Varsity starts at 6:30pm.
  • Football players needing transportation to Doug Adams Stadium for practice today will ride bus 103 in the bus lot immediately after school!

  • The Xenia Lady Buccaneers Jr. Varsity Volleyball team were very impressive during their The Xenia Lady Buccaneers Jr. Varsity Volleyball team were very impressive during their scrimmages only losing 2 sets out of 17 between 9 schools. They open the season with a victory over Newton 2-0 (25-18,25-16). Xenia was led by Brianna Maloney with 3 aces, 4 kills, and 8 assist, Makaya Simons 2 aces, 3 kills and 4 assist, Kendall Sherman 2 aces, 4 kills and 2 assist and Arison Boswell 3 aces, 2 kills and 2 assists.
