Robert P Dillaplain MD has served as a member of the Xenia Community Schools Board of Education for more than 20 years. During his time as a Board member, he has helped shaped the policies which improved our students' academic achievements such that our District has been twice awarded "A District of Excellence" based on the State Report Card.

During his years as a Board member, Dr. Dillaplain was: Board President Xenia Community Schools (4 times), Board Vice-President (6 times), Board Legislative Representative (17 years), awarded the Ohio School Board Award of Achievement (3 times), and was nominated by his fellow Board members for the Ohio School Board Association's Al Kettlewell Award for Outstanding School Board Leadership (2007).

His educational achievements include: Baylor University, Bachelor of Science (1970), Baylor College of Medicine, M.D. (1973), University Dayton, Masters Public Administration with emphasis on community building and economics (2004), and Clinical Assistant Professor Wright State University (26 years).

As a 26 year resident of the Xenia, his service to our community includes: Private medical practice in Xenia (31 years), business owner in Xenia (19 years), Xenia Chamber of Commerce (19 years), Medical Director Greene County Combined Health District (24 years), Board of Directors Greene Giving (9 years), and United States Air Force (12 years).

For a number of years, Dr. Dillaplain enjoyed competitive trail and endurance riding on his favorite horse Beni. In addition for the last 17 years he has hosted a foreign exchange student at Xenia High School.
