Mrs. Cheryl D. Marcus is a champion for public education and an advocate for the advancement of research and knowledge in the area of student success. During her 20 years of service at Central State University, she held several positions including coordinating a school-college partnership program, directing a high school to college transition program, directing a federal grant worth more than $2 million dollars annually, serving as the executive assistant to the president, serving as interim dean of CSU Dayton, and was the campus liaison for creating and coordinating articulation and transfer agreements with community colleges.

Mrs. Marcus served eight years on the school board from 1994 through 2001. She was elected to a 4-year term starting January 2014 and then was re-elected to her current 4-year term, which expires December 2021.

Mrs. Marcus earned an Ed.S. degree in educational leadership from the University of Dayton and completed the 2005 Management Development Program sponsored by Harvard University.

Mrs. Marcus is married to Robert L. Marcus and they have five adult children, all who attended and graduated from Xenia Schools. They are Diane, Tulani, Aiyana, Robert, and Nehemiah.
