Continuous Improvement Process

The purpose and function of the District Leadership Team (DLT) is to reinforce and support the work accomplished by the Building Leadership and Teacher-Based Teams.  This group of instructional leaders will contribute to system-wide instructional improvements and the alignment of performance targets with district goals.  The focus of the DLT will be to increase student achievement through improved instructional strategies and data-driven decision making.

The purpose of the Building Leadership Team (BLT) is to review building level data to provide evidence for instructional decision-making.  The BLT looks at multiple measures of achievement to provide guidance to building level initiatives addressed at the TBT.  The BLT relies on support from the DLT to align building level objectives with district goals.  The BLT is also responsible for ensuring the communication is fluid among all levels of the OIP process.  This group of teacher-leaders contributes to optimizing teaching and learning in their building.

The purpose of the Teacher-based Teams (TBT) is to come together and review and revise the impact of teaching practice and student learning.  This group of teachers will use student data to determine and implement effective differentiated and engaging instructional strategies that are based on students’ learning needs.  Progress is assessed both formally and informally to monitor and adjust strategies on the basis of the analysis of student learning results.  The TBT reports results to the BLT and receives guidance and support from the BLT.
