COVID Quarantine Protocol Update

COVID Quarantine Protocol Update
Posted on 05/03/2021
Due to the decrease in COVID cases in Greene County, as well as the increasing number of people who have been vaccinated, the district is making a change to the protocol for our Isolation Rooms:

Beginning Monday, May 3, students who are sent home through the Isolation Room due to symptoms of COVID may no longer have to quarantine for the full 10 days. Those students will be permitted to return to school when they are symptom-free for 24 hours without the use of medication. Those students should still be transported to school by a parent and checked in prior to returning to class.

Siblings of symptomatic students WILL continue to be sent home; however, they will also be able to return to school once the symptomatic student is symptom-free for 24 hours without medication, as long as they have not developed symptoms themselves. Also the siblings do NOT need to be transported to school by parents and do NOT need to check in prior to returning to class.

In addition, any student who was sent home due to symptoms last week (4/26-4/30) will be permitted to return once they are symptom-free for 24 hours without medication. They will not be required to fulfill the 10 day quarantine.

As always, thank you to all of our students, families, and staff for your patience and flexibility as we continue to navigate a path forward through the remainder of the school year.
